My heart goes out to the boys who can't yet defend themselves from father's like this. I grew up with a wife beating alcoholic father. My brother beat the shit out of him. I admit I felt relieved that someone finally stood up to dad.

I'm so sorry man. I grew up in houses with a lot of intense fights too. I did the same thing... would cry and beg them to stop. Apparently things also happened when I was a very young child.We were just little kids. We weren't supposed to be exposed to that. Parents are supposed to be safe. Loving, protective... like a trusted refuge. When you're a kid and your own parent is the threat, it does something to you. For me, it gave me a deep sense of feeling weak and powerless. I've compensated for that all my life, in some pretty bad ways. I'm sure you were affected too because it sounds like you had it even worse. 😔 God is that good Father that our parents were supposed to be. He is loving, protective, safe... he is a strong refuge for anyone who comes to him. I hope you have him in your life man. 🤝 We need him as a Father.

On mothers day my heart wells up with so much love and my eyes tear up thanking her. On fathers day I forgive him as I imagine what he must have gone through himself as a child. @riseandshinemrfriman5925 Жыл бұрын
That wasn't just "bravery", that was motherly instinct trying to protect her son. And that lady needs to flee from that man and take her son with her, cuz it'll get worse. It's not gonna stop at just throwing punches at her son. She'll be next, when he gets fed up with the fact that she stands up to her son over agreeing with him (the alcoholic). I mean, look at his (the dad's) behaviour. He clearly doesn't like that his son challenges him. Now evolve this further and we have a situation where he physically abuses his wife for challenging him. But again...his mom didn't just become inspired by her son, that's purely motherly instinct that is perceive externally as bravery. Deep down, it's completely different.

Reminds me of the time my alcoholic mom found a junkie boyfriend. My little bro 8 and me 13 knew it was bad news. Flash forward 2 months later I get woken up in the middle of the night to my little bro crying saying this fucker was choking me out. What did I do? Wake up and see them on the ground, played soccer all my life at that point so I kicked the fuck out of him square in the face and broke his nose. In his scramble to get back up my little bro and I were already on top of his as workin him the hardest we could at our age. He eventually threw us off and ran away. In our innocence it wasn’t our moms fault at all, but she absolutely welcomed that into our life and we had to deal with it. Alcoholic parents are awful to deal with but as kids we learn to hold our own. Kudos to dude Laying one right in his dads suckhole to think he was above that

@@KNOWtheLEDGE7 if that kid was "traumatized" and or physically or even emotionally "abused" he wouldn't behave that way. He would have (A) went into a shell and just sat there and let his dad yell at him till he ran out of shit to yell about or (B) not live there anymore. He didn't look, sound, or act like a victim. As a matter of fact, I'll go as far to say that if the dad does have a drinking problem the son is a HUGE contributing factor. Imagine living in your parents basement with your girlfriend and still having your phone on your parents family plan. Imagine shoving money down your dad's shirt and calling him a bitch and telling him to dance for it. Or imagine providing food, shelter, and clothing for 18 year and that's the thanks you get. My dad wasn't the greatest either. He had substance abuse problems and drinking problems that cost him a job or two. He was also pretty "heavy handed" when it came to discipline. But I could never imagine myself treating him like that because he still honored his obligations to take care of me and provide for me until I was able to take care of myself.
@mrrobmitchellful2 жыл бұрын
@@KNOWtheLEDGE7 like I said, I grew up in a similar situation. My dad had issues. I was terrified of him as a young child. But the older I got the more I understood the pressure he was under. It's not easy to provide for a family on a consistent basis. My father is a black man so he had "extra" obstacles to deal with. I would hear him talk to my mom about how his bosses and co-workers would speak to him or how they treated him. And he would just have to take it because he had to provide for his family. I can only imagine how many times he had his dignity completely crushed by people who felt like it was appropriate to treat him that way. Now, obviously this "kids" dad isn't black but he still has to face a lot of the same societal pressure and expectations of being a man and providing for his family. You can hear his wife talking about all the hours his been working and not being paid very well for it. So he's busting his ass for chump change to provide for his family. And his GROWN son that he clothed, fed, and sheltered for his entire life is completely ungrateful. He can't even get off his parents family plan for his phone. I was out of my parents house by the age of 18 or 19 even though we were on good terms by then. I just wanted my own space. If this "kid" is SO miserable why is he still there? If the situation was SO bad why did he move his girlfriend in? This"kid" is a jerk not a victim
@mrrobmitchellful2 жыл бұрын
If the situation is SO bad why is he still there? We live in a different time than our fathers and I'm a little older than you so there are going to slight differences in our experiences. Not to mention we probably come from different parts of the country or maybe even the world. I'm from the southern part of America. Extreme isn't a strong enough word for the type of racism that goes on down there. There are people who come affluent and opulent backgrounds and still end up on drugs. So when someone from poverty who probably suffers some sort of mental illness due to the fact that they live in an impoverished community that no one cares about and doesn't have access to any kind of health care, mental or otherwise. Every day is a struggle for poor people. Being poor is bad enough but when you add racism to the equation it's just too much. The sense of hopelessness is too much for some people to take so they have to self medicate. I saw with my own eyes the things my dad was going through. It was hard watching him literally just walk in the door sit down and just cry. And watch my mom do her best to console him. So I know why drugs and alcohol are so prevalent in impoverished communities people just want to escape any way they can. But wealthy people also do drugs. Sometimes it's for similar reasons but mostly, at least on the surface I would say wealthy people do drugs out of boredom. But like I said I think that's just on the surface. I think once people really think about the fact that we're all going to die one day and so is everyone you know and love it's a hard pill to swallow. We try to delude ourselves and distract ourselves with work, relationships, sports, movies, video games, music, art and of course drugs. I never look down on someone for doing drugs. The wife said something about his mom triggering his drinking so imagine what HIS childhood was like. Alcoholics and drug addicts aren't born they're made. Just like child abusers and racists. Most child abusers were abused when they were children. And no one is born racist it has to be taught.@KnowTheLedge

Having a father like this, minus the alcohol, I'm so proud of this dude. I gaurentee this has been going on most of his life and he snapped and the "father" finally got what he deserved.

Yeah exactly what I thought, also from experience like in your case. At some point, usually once you're strong enough to defend yourself, you reach a point of "no more". Funnily enough, oftentimes after that, the tyrant will back down because he's not used to being opposed and getting punched back
