I have to disagree. Matsunaga and the schoolgirl may stand for 2 possible futures of Japan´s society but it isn´t old vs new. The yakuzas seem to adopt all kinds of western fashion and tastes. Matsunaga and his pals belong as much to postwar Tokio as Harry Lime to postwar Vienna. Maybe its´s order vs chaos or liberal democracy vs a dog eats dog world of crime .
