Your description of D.I.D was very simplified, but thats okay. I have it and I'd like to say D.I.D is a disorder caused by consistent childhood trauma, causing the brain to form different identities (sometimes as real people, fictional characters, and ocs, and people that don't fit in this category at all! Most of the identities in my system(what people with D.I.D are called) are fictives, fictional characters, most of the characters in this video are some of them actually!), usually as a coping mechanism. I have over 50 headmates (aka alters, members of the system), and D.I.D is honestly something I could go on and on about if someone's interested- I love explaining it for some reason lol- Edit: Not all systems have DID! There's also another condition called OSDD which I thought I'd point out since one of the replies did lol
