You have to really know what you're shopping for and stick to it. @@johncoe6304, many people stop because sugar, including fructose, is so addictive. Another reason is somethings are easy to substitute like canola oil to olive oil, but I miss toast with breakfast and a great big sub for lunch or a dinner roll to sop up gravy at dinner. Yes, there's gluten free, but it's not the same. And if your goal is no refined grains, then gluten free is hard to find. The third reason is mindset. Some people see this as a diet and not a new lifestyle. It's hard to maintain whilst your friends and family aren't on the same page. It's like falling off a horse... I totally agree with excess sugar being a major problem. An old cookbook I owned had outrageous sugar measurements in the baking recipes. Or how about adding sugar to your vegetables while cooking? Try going into a supermarket and finding wholesome foods to take home to your family. The food processing industry is giving us few choices for healthy food, using sugar, among other things like a drug dealer to get us hooked. That’s where the solution to the sugar problem has to start; forcing food giants to stop plying their products with sugar and other chemicals that are causing our health to go haywire.

I agree. I have watched over the years as so called experts talked about food, which is good and which is bad for health. First it was butter, bad, then margarine good, now butter is good again. I watched my friends eating egg whites and throwing the yolks away. I have seen the processed frozen food isles get bigger and bigger at the supermarket. And soda. Oh yeah the soda. Some tried to blame the high fructose corn syrup in soda not realizing that sugar is sugar. I see the Mexican people getting fatter and fatter as their standard of living rises, mostly due to soda. I don't believe anything they tell me anymore about food. I buy fresh vegetables whenever possible, this is 80% of my diet. 10% fruit and 10%meat. With this diet I can eat anything I want and never get fat. I make most of my meals at home, at least I know what goes into it. No donuts, pies, cookies, cake or candy. Some cocoa. One thing the doctor didn't mention, and looking at his body I think he should take it to heart, is the importance of exercise. Just looking at the supermarket parking lot where all the carts are left in the parking stalls tells you how lazy the average north American is. Get out there and generate some sweat. It is good for you.

@@jettagliturbo If you are on Andrew Weil's channel promoting veganism, what do you think most people will say to you, when you say this stuff? Honestly, what did you think would happen? "GOSH, why didn't I think of this before?!? Uh-HYUCK! Uh-HYUCK!!!" 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂 I watch Vegetable Police's channel, at least here and there. He'll never have a regular, consistent diet for the rest of his life. I've heard what happened to Ashton Kutcher when he tried fruitarianism... Ted Carr is a freaking WEIRDO... Vegan Gains is a COMPLETE PSYCHO. Utterly NUTS. Do you want me to turn into that cretin??? There's a really slim British vegan I watch on occasion. The man eats easily over 30+ vegan foods a day, including sauerkraut/fermented veggies. He's one of the FEW vegans who really knows what he is doing. But who wants to eat/live like that??? Still, he is the smartest vegan out there, beating out M. Greger even, etc. I just want to eat less often/I spend enough time cooking, etc. as it is... Those celebrity vegans? Maybe they'll stick with it, maybe not. 🤷♂️ For every vegan I know, I probably know 25 vegetarians (ovo or lacto), pescetarians, or nutritarians. Nah man, 99% of the world eats some kind of animal protein, including Dr. Fuhrman. I don't care about your vegan propaganda... 🤷♂️

@@BenjaminGessel Ha man you are so uneducated on nutrition....😌🙏 I will be praying for you. I do not know who this doctor is, it popped up so I shared my thoughts. I have been Vegan for 13 years, I guarantee I am healthier, stronger and have been cardiovascular endurance than you and anyone you have ever known, period😎. Good luck mate.

These are really great but would you consider discussing diet strategies for people that are economically disadvantaged? Many of the options that he represents are out of reach economically for many people. For example, I know he recommends mushrooms but would canned alternatives be sufficient? I’m guessing he’s say yes, but it would be nice to hear a discussion of some sort for this. Thank you.

How about a small garden? Some stuff grows pretty vigorously and makes a good complimentary source of nutrition.

I eat canned & frozen vegetables. I'm single and the fresh mostly ends up wasted, except for my lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, etc. Cheaper protein is tuna, chicken, sardines, eggs, canned salmon. Butter is getting expensive.
@mysterioanonymous32062 жыл бұрын
@@cincin4515 I'm aware, just an idea. I think nearly everyone could grow a few Lettuce heads, tomatos or beans on their window sill if they actually wanted. I do. There's community gardens, guerilla gardening... If there's a will there's a way. And yeah sure, but those canned, frozen, whatever cheap things are also mostly ecologically devastating (overfishing, animal rights, monoculture and pesticide use etc.), and in terms of health there are concerns in some cases which is why I suggested fresh homegrown produce. Cant have it all I guess. If you're really poor (too bad) it's gonna be rice and beans for you, been like that forever.

Very interesting critique of food consumption in these United States of America. Thank you so much for sharing this so important information. And than you for your honesty about Medical Doctors playing a significant role in promoting unhealthy eating habits. I would also argue that the promotion of foods eaten in the U.S.A. is directly

What thoughts or advice do you have about gut healing and the connection with autoimmune disease? Also, in that realm what thoughts do you have about things like sibo and things like lectins? Do you believe it's best to stay away from certain things or to prepare them in ways for example taking skins off of certain vegetables or soaking and sprouting grains and or legumes and pressure cooking? Thank you, if you answer this...I really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this 🙏🏼😊

What I tell my kids, if it's made in a factory it's probably bad for you. If God made it, it's probably good for you.

Wtf!?! Most vegetables on your plate didn't exist 3000 years ago and are the result of selective breeding, or in other words, an early and slow form of gmo (genetically modified organisms). But sure, God made them... How about I give you some of God's best mushrooms sometime, let's see how you like those natural godmade shrooms, you may just meet him in the process of it... 😂

Ive completely eliminated the added sugar factor from packaged foods from my diet. I know exactly how much sugar I consume. I mostly use monk fruit sugar, because it doesn't cause glycemic spikes. I stopped eating and drinking almost all manufactured foods thru big Ag.

Better to eat some pineapple, oranges and pomegranate than to eat candy... Better to eat grass-fed beef with garlic powder than a bunch of cold cuts like salami, bologna, pastrami, summer sausage, etc. Better to eat rice with chives and butter, than to eat doughnuts and twinkies... Better to eat walnuts and pistachios than to eat a bunch of nutter butters... 🤷♂️ As it is, I don't even eat pineapple very often...
