Living in a colder climate with a zone 5 garden in Canada, I am particularly drawn to these stunning gardens. What a treat. Thank you.

One month ago you introduced me to some splendid aloes in this magnificent garden. I fear that this visit will add to the long list of my horticultural regrets 😉, Regards Jean Lou

Sue has such a fabulous garden. It's as though I have one basic cultivar of any given genus for every 20 intersesting ones she has growing. It can be a bit depressing to confront the reality of one's own botanical blandness. Having said that, I do like considering the various hypotheses presented re the evolutionary history of the botanical families presented and am pleased that I can at least grow some of the amazing families exampled in her garden. For me, the joy of such plants is that they bring so many small and interesting birds into the garden......whether for the nectar, insects or pollen they provide. Something that can be heard throughout your videos (with the volume turned up) but which doesn't appear visually (for the most part) are the little birds that rely on Sue's garden, not only to get them through the Winter, but to bring them into breeding condition for the season ahead. Love it all.

The large jade plant sent shivers down my spine. I like well-kept ones in pots, but I've got one in my back yard that took over. It grew so large that it knocked down an old stone wall that was the fence between my property and next door. It is around 7m long, 3m wide, and was about 3m tall until I cut it down to near ground level, and it's now back to around 2m tall again. I plan to get rid of it entirely eventually, but it's gotten so big that I think I might need to hire someone with an excavator to rip it all out. It flowers like crazy every year. If anyone wants to come and get it, I'd be more than happy to give it away! No one locally is interested because the darn things grow like weeds here - here being Far West NSW - and everyone that does want one growing in their yard is already struggling to keep theirs under control.

@@thehorti-culturalists I guess it's a case of one area's precious plant is another area's weed.

Thanks to Sue, and to you guys for visiting 😊 Stunning plants! My own jade plant has grown to a magnificent 45cms (yup, 45cms 😂 ) due to living in a winter heated conservatory 😆 Such is UK weather 🤷♀️

It took me a while to remember the afrikaans name for portulacaria afra. It's spekboom, which translates as bacon tree!

Sue’s garden is magical and so is Sue 🪄 I think she should write a book about the garden and her journey in creating it.
