What a great idea, can't wait to try it. These cards are lovely. I also store my dies on magnetic sheets that I back with sturdy cardboard or chipboard and slip into a page protector. I buy magnetic heating vent covers at the hardware store in a package of three 8" x 15" sheets for less than $5 and trim them on my paper trimmer to 8" x 11". Sometimes I use the smaller leftover pieces to store the dies in their original packaging. Now I have an even better use for the leftover pieces! Thank you for a wonderful and fun idea, not only to use the die cuts for embossing but also as embellishments!

Another really wonderful idea! All 4 of my kids are my favorites, just for different reasons! I can't imagine what would happen if they all received a card like that. They are a little spread out so I doubt they would compare but an interesting idea.

Love the tutorial and cards. I know you try to list all supplies in the description, but I can't seem to find the silver sparkle embossing powder. great tips, i assume the embossing diecut has to have little give like magnet sheets or cardstock, cos if you used foam it would just get squashed, no?
@jennifermcguireink9 жыл бұрын
Maaike Uijthoven you can't use foam for the die cuts. but could use foam in place of the embossing mat.

@vickifinger86709 жыл бұрын
I just purchased some Gold Sparkle Embossing powder (WOW brand) I used it for the first time this evening but it is not really "melting" and does not stick to the paper either. I just re-inked my Versamark Pad, so I'm not sure what the trouble is. If you could suggest things to try, I'd really appreciate it.
@jennifermcguireink9 жыл бұрын
+Vicki Finger hmmmm... make sure to heat it long enough. it does have glitter in it and the glitter does not melt - keep that in mind.
@SmittenKitten.8 жыл бұрын
+Vicki Finger I'm having the same problem. Could it be our heat tools? What sort of heat tool do you use? I have a cheap one, but it's always worked fine for non-glitter embossing powders. :(

Just an FYI. Don't send a card with anything magnetic on it to someone with a pacemaker. When my mother-in-law is here I even have to switch out my die platform so she doesn't accidently get too close to the magnetic one. I wasnt aware of it before she got her pacemaker. I doubt there would be enough magnetism in a die cut to cause a problem but better safe than sorry.

Just had to share, I got my 2 Daughters exactly what they asked for for X-Mas, they compared, & my older Daughter liked what her sister got better ( go figure, no win !) so I get a IM message from older Daughter, "your 2nd favorite daughter would like....."( I responded I have no favorite.) (this was just after new yrs)..something close to what her sister got,so keeping things fair, I ended up getting them each something else that they wanted...LOL..OMG .. Oh, & I might add, they are 27 & 26..... this would be fun to send to them each,, that would really get them going ....LOL
