That looks ideal for the way you described your use of gouache for accenting/highlighting watercolour paintings! Looks so pretty altogether in a palette like that. I’ve never purchased dried gouache before, although both Beam and Stoneground have tempted me in the past.

You're looking pretty adept at doing architectural-line renderings in gouache ☺...love your stash of tubes...and I think your palette idea...though arduous as I can only imagine...will be well worth it in the end...just pull out those tubes for fresh paint...for large areas to fill in. I would love to know how you like working with the many different brands of gouache you have accumulated. How do they compare...do you like the Daler Rowney? thanks for the lovely review...great trick...to tape to a ruled cutting mat!!! Janis

Thank you. The palette has been working well, except with issues with MGraham ultramarine. It is working great for small and tube for large. The DR are a bit thinner than a WN or Holbein but still good opacity. Browns crack a bit in all brands and Schmincke is a bit more transparent dried compared to others.

Have you tried those magnetic sheets? You can cut them to size. I use them for my water color pans. I cut them to fit the bottom of each pan with their adhesive backing. Then they will stay on the palette metal and can be moved if I want.

Yes I use the magnetic sheets all the time, this palette was so big and kinda moves a bit so I secured them a bit more. Thank you.

Caramel D’Ashe makes a dry gouache palette, I used the tin for my own colors. Also Stoneground Paint makes dry gouache palettes. Thank you

Have you tried magnetic strips? I cut them to the size of the bottom of the half pan and they stay secure

Yes I use magnets all the time, but the size of this tin was not making them behave, lol so I went for the sticky tack. Thank you Payne Walter.

How are they holding up? Are they rewetting okay, are they cracking?

They are holding up well! A tiny bit of cracking in mostly a few browns. I have another update video if you would like to see. Thank you so much.

This is a beautiful palette, but what is the sense of it when. You only use gouache on in awhile on top of watercolor. I can see the sense of it for your watercolors, but it seems a lot of trouble for something you don't use very often. Can you explain?
