Great video. I need to bring mine around to a drying pier to clean the Hull also.

Excellent one T.J. You are a braver man than me. Lots of people have told me that in theory a Mirage should be fine to stand on its keel. But I've never found any photographic, or video evidence....Until now. I wonder if the sand was also a bit too soft as well which didn't help with the forward lean. I keep very little forward of the front of the keel. I wonder if moving the anchor and chain back to the cockpit might help. But well done again. That must have been nerve wracking. Cheers Paul

TRUE Paul i was so nervous because you have to commit to it ones the tide starts dropping, and when the bow starting drooping more i thought i was fooked. I only painted one side so it will be interesting to see the difference when i do it again in April after been in the water for 6 months. and i will empty the water tank and move the anchor like you suggested next time, but i feel a lot more confident now to do it again.

Doesn't take much weight to tip them, anchor and chain lowered could help too. I had one go like that once. I was standing on the quay and someone made some comment, I didn't let on it was my boat.

good idea. remember the Heat exchange bracket i welded. It broke again "not my welds" so thinking of mounting it on a bulkhead. have you seen it done before ?????

@@sailingceltic1911 I seem to remember it's position made access to everything else on the engine difficult so moving would only improve things. I can only think of the Beta marinisation and most engines have them on the side of the engine but sure you will come up with a plan.

Nice little video T. J. Did you get it all done on the one tide? We'll drop down and drink beers in the stern to help with the nose down issue next time... 😉
@sailingceltic19114 жыл бұрын
well.. yes got it done on one tide, but only painted one side, so cant wait to what its like after 6months in the marina over the winter. BEER GREAT IDEA lol

Wish I had that option! It's gonna cost me 2 grand!
@sailingceltic19112 жыл бұрын
what is the tide range were you are ?????. $2000 seams a lot
@EdwardSeatonSailings2 жыл бұрын
@@sailingceltic1911 I don't know the actual tide range actually. I'll have to look that up, but I know there is no place here in California that'll let you dry out like in your video. Too many rules. Also, I need new paint. 2k is for the lifting of the boat and the all the materials.

I gotta do this, so scared of something going wrong. I also don't know how you cleaned the other side lol did you crawl in there or something?

Thanks for watching. Yep pair of waders up pass my chest and crawl under the boat to scrape the keel and hull then paint, but there is a apart i cant get to but can get it from the dingie when a float
