So Matt I might be wrong but isn’t dry ice a byproduct from a lot of manufacturers for instance at the winery we get a ton of carbon dioxide deliveries and there’s actually a facility not too far away from us in Sacramento I could totally be wrong I’ll have to ask the driver next time if dry ice is a byproduct of their manufacturing?

Dry Ice is manufactured from captured CO2 (byproduct) from all sorts of manufacturing, so you are correct in a sense, Now if or not the facility you speak of in Sacramento does capture their CO2 byproduct I can not answer.

I have just now looked at what are the options for dry ice cleaning your vehicle/ furniture/ etc. here in europe. It seems an already well developed environment. The amount of choices in the radius of 100km are crazy. Small businesses, even bigger ones. Altough a quick look through it seems that we might be abit too late for it here in europe. Thats my opinion and as i mentioned a far from an in-depth analysis. Will definitely look deeper into it. As it does seem facinating to me

I am situated in Denmark. Here you can event rent a machine. It most definitely depends on what country we are talking about

Here’s the thing with dry ice detailing … #1. The initial cost is NOT small, therefore NOT economical. #2. The upkeep and maintenance is NOT economical. #3. Application is NOT practical for shops or mobile. #4. Dry ice CAN damage parts if used incorrectly. #5. The only real practical use is under carriage cleaning. My conclusion: this form of cleaning is best left to industrial applications rather than automotive detailing. It’s not practical or economical and thus has very little value for detailers as a whole. I absolutely love dry ice cleaning, don’t get me wrong. I would argue that it beats chemical cleaning in almost every way. However, that being said, I don’t see this as an option unless it’s for personal or niche applications. It’s just too expensive to make money with it.

#4 is irrelevant imo...you could say that about just about any tool or detailing product. One can do a lot of damage with a polisher as well!

Without looking at the cost yet the person who does dry ice cleaning would probably have to leave detailing and do only dry ice and expand what they clean. Commercial clients can and will pay top dollar but finding what you can clean and not destroy is going to be the challenge

It's all relative. A new rollback truck will set you back $200k. But you cannot earn $250/ hour with it. And that market is HIGHLY competitive. We have now recuced the entry into a full dry ice system to the $75k value. About the cost of an average new 4x4 pickup truck. Which I can assure you, won't make you $200+/ hour driving around. It absolutely is financially viable and rewarding. We now have 65 members of the DryceNation. 25 locations are open and performing work onsite and mobile.

Plenty of OG fans that have more money than they know what to do with. Example… recent garage build.

Its been used to clean stuff with for 25+ years, its being used for construction equipment, cleaning out electrical cabinets at hydro electric plants. Its even being used to clean fire damaged homes, where it not only takes out soot, but also odor from the fire damaged wood. The process is not going away within 10 years, and the use case is huge.
