Drysuits: Why and How to wear them

This is a video about drysuit diving, Craig my instructor explains what a drysuit is and I demonstrate putting one on. (It was windy by the beach! I apologize for the wind noise in advance!)

Oceaner 7mm drysuit wt mini adjustable exhaust valve on lower left arm. 22 years old and still works great (approx 1500 hrs on it) Poseidon fst stage and Apex snd stage (same use as suit) No BC, thats the suit. As for those who might say "what if the suit fails" I say "what if the BC fails" and with approx 3000 hrs under water in all kinds of conditions I've only had minor leaks and never seen anyone with a failure. Heard about some but it's always 5th and 6th hand stories. Oceaner's agood suit

@hiyer05 They're actually less hassle to put on than a thick wetsuit, once you've done it a few times. Wetsuits are simple to put on in principle, but a pain in the butt in practice--if that makes sense. You're also much less restricted in a well-fitting drysuit; they let you move.

just a friendly kayaker here, you don't need to use talc powder but it makes it easier on the hands. as for the head just use your hands to stretch it open either side and then pop your head strait through. to get it all of you just do the exact same in reverse, once you have done it once its very easy

Way ta do it Ponzi! Yeah water tight zipper is a pain. Oh tip for the head seal, put your hair up in a tight bun before headin out to dive, then it should pop right over the bun. :) Least thats my thoughts. :)

That was nice of Craig to hold the camera. Chris didn't come along? I recall him saying that he dislikes the beach so perhaps he doesn't care for the idea of scuba diving.

in fact,the drysuits have a pee valve for a man who want to piss when you in drysuits

Drysuits use the same kind of zipper space suits use. So uhm..., yeah, pretty similar.

Prefer Fourth Element two piece Arctic with drysuit as a wool bear may block shoulder dump and cause problems. Still the young girl in this Video appears to be quite good looking.

they also make p-valve for women called she-p. well the valve system is the same ;) google on it if you want

Back in 2008 whoever sold you that suit made a big joke. This is obviously large for you even with thermal underwear it is still too baggy.

...it´s like you want nothing to do with the water, and notice how there´s sun and good weather, so...maybe you are in the wrong activity or sport....

Even at the height of summer, the Puget Sound water off Seattle (where this is being filmed) is about 48 degrees F. Many, if not most, divers here use dry suits. (I use a two-piece 7mm wetsuit, but it's not ideal.)
