It's rare that I identify so completely with a band and its music as I did with this one. It absolutely broke my heart when they decided to break up because it just wasn't sustainable to keep making music.

The talent in this band is unreal. I heard the chambers and the valves and just fell in love with it and I foolishly thought "ah this will be their best song by a mile though, the rest won't be so good"

I don't think I've ever cried as much at a band's songs than I have with DTR. Unbelievably talented, it's not normal. Please announce a tour asap. I miss seeing you live - by far the best live band I've seen yet.

This band just keeps getting better and better. This is one of my favourites by Dry The River (so far!). I was at the barrier for their Reading Festival set and it was one of the greatest live performances I've ever seen. The vocals were even better live, as were the instruments. They deserve so much more recognition!

I absolutely adore this song, and i'm really into music like this, and whenever i get my friends to listen to this, the don't really like it which i think is displeasing as the majority of the younger audience, end up listening to superficial stuff, instead of real music like this, so i'm glad i've gotten a good insight into good music

"It started with the moon that turned an inexpensive room into St. Peters. There’s a parabolic story, but it’s boring and it ends how you’d expect. Forever dressing down I’m like a stranger hanging round outside the kingdom hall. I’d ‘ve carried your wedding shawl, you could’ve said I was a school friend. And you drag your holy horse cart in the sky when I wake up they say it’s just the sun but I know that face. Excavating down you’d find the drowning and the drowned and then there’s us, babe. You could walk to our memorial, but it’s pourring and it ends how you’d expect. I dig your dresses out and hang ‘em round about the house and turn the lights down low. Now you’re everywhere I go looking faintly disappointed. And you drag your holy horse cart in the sky when I wake up they say it’s just the sun but I know that face. But the devil’s tricks just seem to sit so light on you. They’d never get the marionette this tight on you. In the parliamentary houses there’ll be talk of what this is with inexpert witnesses and evidence against us. But I’ll take my pound of substance from those insubstantial men. Whatever their arguments, I’ll prove your innocence. Drag your holy horse cart in the sky when I wake up, oh yeah. Testify allegiance with more puncture wounds than Jesus, oh yeah. Every statue’s weeping honey and it makes my sight go funny ‘cause I’m over sympathetic and I can’t control myself. Leave that painful memory in the garden of Gethsemane, oh yeah, oh yeah.”

I love everything about this song and video - from the lyrics and music down to the details such as Pete's gestures, the way Scott's hair looks like a shampoo commercial :D, the choice of clothes and location for the video, their visible exhaustion at the end since they'd just put 110% of themselves into the performance...Dry the River have outdone themselves again :)
