Sir I hope you have a guard. To oversee the area I hunt gold in AZ and I never turn on lights at night people who are in the area think that everything is there's if you are not hiding behind the hills and one of the crazy comes alone. I would not want to be you .. I hide when I am there..out of sight out of mind 👍

The reason there was very little black sand and gold was from the amount of air flow. Watching I could instantly tell you were giving the 151 too much air. Overshaking looses your fines and heavys. The 151 if run properly will catch ultra fines and loose very little. 90+% recovery is standard. Take a look at my buddy's channel. They run 151s and have found pounds!! Channel is I brake for bedrock.

I am still learning how to properly set up this guy. Slowly getting a feel for it. I agree. The first few runs were far too hot. My last trip I watched several old timers and was amazed how slow they were running vs my setup. I have sense then slowed it down drastically. Thanks for the recommendation I will check out his page this evening.

Just an observation: wouldn't it be better to set the screener down wind do you don't have to choke on the dust?🤔

That is a great question. In all honesty that was my first time in AZ and I learnd quite a bit. Flash floods keep gold near the top. There is not enough time for it to settle deep. With that being said, there is also the issue of flash floods and even general storms happening yearly which does allow some gold to settle in a bit deeper. For this trip I was aiming for bedrock and the deeper I went the worse I did. That may vary though depending on the area and how often it is worked.
@alicehallam82473 жыл бұрын
@@Oidium45 why is bedrock your destination? In colorado, we pan streams. Does dry washing really work I guess that is a stupid question but I am just starting out.
Quartzsite metal detector club claims are better. Have worked a hole other side of road

@@briancook8938 I have only prospects in AZ once. It is a 6 hour drive for me. There are Garnets here in the San Gabriel mountains as well as a few places near Bishop. The San Gabriels are blood red and the ones near Bishop are cinnamon. I have a vid up showing the ones near Bishop. I did have a chance as a kid to dig for Diamonds in AR but we did not find much.

Some comments on dry washing, One, it can cause a cancer known as silicosis. Very bad stuff. Wear a good dust mask. It is also quite ineffective at recovering gold. Think about 50%. I had the experience of trying it at an outing in Arizona with several experienced dry washers. After cleaning out the mats and finding about 2 grams of gold, I decided to pan the finer material that went through the mesh mats and was trapped inside the dry washer. It was a puffer type. Some of the more experienced user said I wouldn't find much there. I actually found more under the mats than in them, The gold in AZ is very, very fine. Some I found went through a 100 mesh screen. These dry washers won't catch that. Also, you can miss larger pieces coming off the top screen/grizzly. My advice, try to set up some type of recovery system using water. Bye for now. Happy mining.
@garymcbroom67963 жыл бұрын
A puffer may not catch it, but a properly set up drywasher will.
@G53X0Y0Z0 Жыл бұрын
Your definitely correct about the health risks of all that dust. But, good dry washers are much more efficient than 50% IF they are set up and run correctly and the dirt is not too wet. I get gold so fine it's ridiculous.
