Long night song tells you absolutely why either of these pairs need a sub! But they are good in their own price brackets. Excellent excellent video. Comparison is spot on, given a good pair of monitor headphones are used to listen to this video with eyes closed. 1855 has significantly richer higher end and a better sound stage as well.

here it lacks for wide range and some of the sounds here only can be heard through R1280DBs which is why I think you cant trust youtube to judge a speaker since you need to tune both to get a perfect result.

Treble -3 Bass -2 (try treble -4 Bass -3 if the speakers are toed in directly at you) on the speaker, T5 crossover at 60hz - 70hz and volume at 80% - 90%

@@shahrizalshukor4926 with treble -3 and bass -2, it is the most neutral according to the frequency chart. This 1855 sounds too bright, lucky it has tone controls.

@@shahrizalshukor4926 that is why its advisable to set the crossover low at 60 to 70hz, it doesnt need to do so much. I liked my setup with -4 treble and -3 bass. It becomes very smooth sounding, definitely not as tajam as the stock setting. The T5 is not a good sub, i hated it when I heard it. The 1855 is very good for its price.

Note that the left & right channels of both pairs of speakers here have been reversed, with the result that natural 3D stereo imaging & realism is lost during music playback and both pairs of speakers are not really sounding at their best. The speaker having volume, bass & treble controls and input/power indicator is known as the active speaker. This is the right channel speaker and should be positioned on the right, while the other speaker without similar controls and indicator is the passive speaker which plays the the left channel and should therefore be positioned on the left. It is absolutely vital to ensure correct placement of left and right speakers to enjoy your music or movies. Otherwise you'll find the car whizzing by on the left of your TV monitor screen, while the sound effect is coming from the right speaker. If you own any pair of stereo speakers you should always verify their correct placement by playing back left/right stereo channel test videos available on KZbin.

The 1855DB's are deifnitely closer to the source track. There isn't a huge difference though and in my country the 1855 costs twice as much than the 1280

both sound good for the price. probably only suitable for small rooms. i don't think the R1855DB is worth the extra money if it's used in a small room.

I've heard both. The better tweeter in the r1855db will definitely make a difference, in a small room. Clarity is better and vocal sounds much more live like with the r1855db. If you can afford it I would say go for the r1855db.

I own the 1280dbs recently to replace my more than 10 years Altec Lansing VS4121. Honestly, as you can hear in this video, the mid details is suck. Its need subwoofer so the mid frequency doesn't mixed up with the low frequency.

@@khalidnoer in term of sound balancing, VS4121 win. But, you can't tune the sub as there's no HPF function. In term of functionality, 1280 + SW T5 win. Overall, its a tie and depends on what you want to hear. If mid is more important to you, get VS4121. 1280 need SW to produce good Mid

Such videos are the reason why there should be downvote number on youtube. This is a chanel with prtobably the dumbest speaker reviews. No matter how good microphone you will use to record it, the sound be will only as good as device that you use to play it. Without any comment this video has no sense if i play it on my laptop speakers.

No it won't give you a perfect idea of what they sound like but you can certainly tell more about one speaker versus another (but this channel never said otherwise). But some useful information is much much better than having no information at all.

These videos are not for hearing how they exactly sound. It is for you to compare two different speakers and make you own conclusion on which speakers sound better. In this example, R1855 has a wider stage. This was enough for me to decide. Blyat.
