In this video I share how I would focus and compose quickly to capture creative compositions with a dSLR, this technique also works for mirrorless cameras. Watch how I setup my back-button focus here • How I Setup Back-butto...

Ray, I just have to be honest. I didn't see either of these Warblers in our recent workshop. I think I could've worked with these subjects a little longer then the ones we saw... 😆Great video as always. Practical tips on AF for dslr users, well done

Focus and recompose? Is this a historical lecture? It’s 2024. No camera company is putting development resources into DSLR any longer. It’s a dead tech. It’s past time for anyone into wildlife photography to get a mirrorless camera.

I'm glad to hear you have the financial ability to upgrade to mirrorless. While I agree with you that technology is a dead end it doesn't change the fact that there are a ton of people still using and some buying used dSLR gear. I work with them in person all the time. Since all my current video lessons feature bird/animal eye-tracking with autofocus I thought it might be helpful for those still using dSLRs to understand how I would approach focusing and composing with that gear. Contrary to what you suggest not everyone can upgrade.

In reality, there are far more photography enthusiasts with DSLRs than those who have upgraded to mirrorless... Very much a "live tech" for now. Unfortunately, while DSLRs will one day be a thing of the past, disparaging know-it-alls will likely always be around😢 Thanks for your excellent work Ray!

@@stephengermroth2940 The DSLR tech is dead. According to not me but the major camera manufacturers. They haven’t put any development into DSLR tech for years. A lot of people like to horseback ride too.
