how the z axis know how heavy is camera and lens on gimbal? can you set strength of that spring?
@alexworks96596 жыл бұрын
Neat gimbal. Seems more like 4 axis rather than 5. (Vertical motion) Am I missing something? Does it take out horizontal motion? Seems like xyz in pan, tilt, roll plus vertical z.
@JevenDovey6 жыл бұрын
Seems like 4 to me too but I think they consider both handles as an axis?
@roxor79096 жыл бұрын
The spring arm reduces the vertical and horizontal vibrations, as shown in the 1:47 of this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fauZkJupeMiLi6M
@alexworks96596 жыл бұрын
Okay, maybe I'm not seeing it. I watched that link and several videos on your site and I only see the spring mechanism actuating in the vertical direction. Unless you somehow created the worlds first double acting four link... What exactly is the 5th axis (the fore/aft axis)? Neat idea though. Maybe small screw adjustable gas pistons would dampen the "rebound" inherent in a spring only mechanism.
@JevenDovey6 жыл бұрын
Its not my product. I just reviewed it. I think what they're saying by 5 axis is that each handle counts as an axis. It seems more like 4 axis for me too but I get that they're stretching it for the marketing term "5 axis"
@johnhmaw6 жыл бұрын
I think you are spot on. A 5th axis would be side to side (left and right). Unless there is something that wasn't described, this is a 4 axis gimbal. The 5th axis is just marketing BS. Incidentally, you can 3D print - not 4D or 5D print ;-) - attachments that turn most 3 axis gimbals into 4 (not 5) axis gimbals. Several designs on Thingiverse.
@MarkHarrop6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review on this gimbal, think I will go back to looking at 3-axis gimbals as I don't think I need the extra axis options.

I´m using a Crane 2 and I don´t really have that much of up/down shakes at all. So for me this is doesn´t make too much sense and you can get this Z-axis grip as an accessory if you feel you need it.

The Z-Axis helps with running or situations where you are moving quick. I have noticed it works well with this gimbal but not something I need all the time

Rare 30fps king. Love it and thank you for it. Try it with lower shutter speeds like 1/40th and 1/50th of a second to make it look a little creamier and a bit more like "traditional" low frame rate 24 and 25fps stuff.

For me, i feel it is not necessary to pay more for 5 axis. If you walk properly or add wrap stabilizer will solve the problems. In the test videos, there are some jitter too. It is not perfectly smooth. So, i would save the money.

Thanks for the review man... One question, in the demonstration footage at the beginning there is a shot done with a roll move... It's kinda "jumpy" not smooth, and I was wondering if this is an intended post choice (kinds of syncs with the beat)... Because if not, then the roll feature of this gimbal is pretty crappy..? Thanks!

I have the Nebula 4200 but when adding the battery grip to the GH5 or GH5S, it can't handle it. Have you tried this one with the grip on? I really need to upgrade to something that can handle it.
@pooyafitness6 жыл бұрын
The extra axis is not really gimbal. It is only a spring which introduces some other artifacts. If only it was o true gimbal that would be awesome.

Brian Bray Not really as this not necessary for this type of gimbal. Or maybe it's not better than the regular ones out there.

I explained in the video that you still need to do a slight gimbal walk. It cuts out a ton of the movement but if you are just running with it and not thinking about the shot you'll definitely still get bumps

Cool video. Question. What is the name of the effect on minute 1:49 where you transition from one place to the next. What transition is that?

Isn't that just 4 axis? The up/down motion is along the Z axis; are you counting both handles as individual axis? I'm confused. Gimbal and footage looks good though 👍👍
@JevenDovey6 жыл бұрын
They're considering being able to move side to side with the dual handles to be the 5th axis.

Hi, what if our camera has IBIS, say 3 axis, if we coupled it with a 3 axis gimbal, would that give us a total of 6 axis stabilisation?
@ChadDidNothingWrong Жыл бұрын
No because those would both be stabilizing rotation. You need the other 2 (or 3 lol) to be stabilizing actual linear movement, What you're referring to would just give you a 3 axis gimbal with alot more range of rotation.

Hey Jeven, cant wait to start your courses, can you recommend sources for courses for Adobe Pr and Ae, successfully created a couple of projects with help from this community but KZbin, as good as it is, from what I have seen, most show follow along stuff, they are great but I don't want to rely on them

I'm not sure for Adobe Pr. I don't use Adobe's products for editing. Only photography. Have you looked on Lynda.com or Skillshare? Theres a ton of course websites out there and some that have very detailed editing courses
