If someone played this and told me it was a tube amp I'd believe it. Looking forward to eventually testing this out and seeing for myself. I love my tube amp but they're just so damn loud my ears hate me, if I can get 90% of the way there without needing insane volume I'd be quite pleased.

Ambitious piece of gear, it sounded great but I did have some mechanical issues. Loud buzzing when connecting to XLR, random buzzing that could only be solved by plugging in random input jacks until it stopped etc. I’m hoping mine was just a dud because I enjoyed how it sounded when I had it.

same issue i had. only stopped buzzing when i had one of the outs connected to an amp.

This is not DSM’s flagship. The Simplifier Deluxe is their flagship product with markedly more functions and improved sound.

Noob question. So I have this pedal and I've set it up as a hub using 4CM. Now, I have been usually playing directly into FRFRS using the 1/4in sum mono. But what if I wanna play into the front of an amp? Do I just use the THRU as the output? I basically wanna use my meticulously setup pedalboard to work in both FRFR / front of amp use cases. Any help and advice is much appreciated. Thank you.
@sweetwater11 ай бұрын
Hi, Rishab! Thanks for your question. You’re on the right path with your connections. Flip the Cab Bypass switch to get the preamp only output. The Thru also bypasses the preamp if you want to use the gain and tone controls from the full amplifier. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Great demo! what is the difference between the deluxe version?
@sweetwater2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Ricardo! There are a few key differences with the biggest being that the DLX is a two channel amplifier with independent EQ controls for each channel. Also, the DLX has reverb onboard whereas the standard Simplifier does not. Thanks for the interest! Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com

Hey. Is it possible to go from a head amp to this using only the cab simulation?
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
Hello, I don’t quite follow your question. You cannot plug a powered amp head output into the Simplifier, nor will it power a passive guitar cabinet. This is designed to be used with either headphones or a powered speaker. Feel free to call us to go into more detail. Thanks! Hi, César! Thanks for your message, hope you’re well and safe. This is a preamp only, no power amp capacity. It will not power a cabinet. Can i use the Simplifier straight into a cab? And how?
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
Hi, Luke. The Simplifier can be run to a cab but it would need a power amp to make it work. Something like the Seymour Duncan Power Stage would be a great option for that. You could also do something like the Blackstar Amped 1, which is a very similar product to the Simplifier but has a 100W power amp built into it. Thanks for your interest! @@sweetwater Brilliant! If i was going into a LIVE PA system would i need to use both XLR’s or just one? And if so, which side? I’m really confused! My Line 6 PA Toneport only has one XLR input, so how would i connect the simplifier to that?!
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
@@lukemillard679 The XLR outputs are always set up for stereo so if you’re just running to one speaker, use the TRS Right output. If only that output is used it will sum the output to Mono. Can I plug the Simplifier into a amp head to listen with headphones and get qualitative sound? It’s for the Marshall Origin 20 that has a DI out with no need for ext load box.
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
Hi, Riccardo. The Simplifier is not meant to be used with a separate amp head. It works great if you want to practice with headphones, or run direct to a FOH or recording setup. It will not remove the need to have a load box or cabinet connected to an amp head. If you want to hear your amp head through headphones without a cabinet, you will want a cab sim with a headphone out. Examples of this would be the Mesa Cab Clone, the Universal Audio OX, or Two Notes Captor X. Thanks for your interest! Meanwhile you get quite good sounding all tube amps in the price range between 100 and 200,-, so this pedal, which shows no tube charcater at all, does not make any sense at all to me. Typical 08/15 transistor op-amp tones, which hardly can compete even with a Champ or Princeton, much less with a Plexi or AC-30. I meanwhile have even some plugins, which offer me more authentically sounding tube character, than this hardware unit does.
@Burnt_Gerbil2 жыл бұрын
Not impressed with this unit. Another one that sounds flat and lifeless. I do not plan on selling tube amp and 4x12 any time soon. The argument has always been convenience. What about drummers? They have to carry all that stuff around. Nope, not for me. I’ll pass.
