Joe I was thinking, the line to the planetary may get cut if the converter comes apart or somthing in the bell housing. I have have never heard of it happening myself, but its what the scatter shield would be for i imagine. Having that line off to the right may be a potential issue? Having it to the left hugging the frame rail would add a little extra fluid and stay out of the way. Just my thoughts, I will be trying this out in my 2g. Info is much appreciated!
@JoeWrenches3 жыл бұрын
Good points. That kind of failure could cut my fuel or coolant lines as well, but there is no scatter shield available for my car. I would likely buy one if there was. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Is there a reason there isn't a "carrier bearing" on the driver's side axle? It's been a while since I did some DSM work, but I thought they had a carrier bearing of sorts to make the axles equal length. I'm not sure how necessary it is with a front LSD, but I'm just curious. Maybe it's only an AWD thing?
@JoeWrenches3 жыл бұрын
It's an AWD thing. Some people use it in FWD and claim it makes for less torque steer. I've never seen that to be true. It's never been proven to be stronger. There's no bolt in parts for a 27 spline diff and DSS Level 5 axles for this car are unequal length with no half-shaft.
@ttpgarage3 жыл бұрын
I have a AWD equal length in my car it helps a little bit but you still have some TQ steer. Yeah can use a AWD diff or a 1g diff in a 2g and you can use 1g axles on a 5spd trans, autos not so sure🤔

"Joe and bro in the garage" vids are OK by me. I don't think YT will ever cover your expenses, so don't feel obligated to provide masterful editing and filming. Personally I prefer very short summary videos (like 1 min tiktoks), and avoid long livestreams (like the 10+ minutes the YT algo pushes), but do whatever works for your style and resources. Cheeeese!!!

There is some talk about it on facebook. Look for info from Kiggly Racing. This video shows you what to do. The reason is better oiling to the planetary gearset.

hello Joe have you tried using equal length cv axle I used the steading shaft from awd and axle combo in the driverside helps my torque steer a lot and I'm using quafe lsd
@JoeWrenches3 жыл бұрын
I’m using the larger 27 spline quaife differential and it’s not compatible with the awd setup. Also, DSS makes stronger front axles for fwd with upgraded outer hubs.
