Yeah, practice is everything. I even sent a friend request to a JP i fought with Ken. Man he slapped me crazy. Bloke was happy enough to make a custom room and invite me cause he enjoyed our matches. We must of played like 10 matches after that, within which I was able to learn a lot from his mechanics and won 1 or 2 of them as well. Such GGs. Literally practicing against what you just played. You can also, after a match, opt to play with the other person right away to practice as well. And there is also a practice against just matched up character option. I mean, how much more can the game do to hint to someone to practice? LoL. Phlipburger didn't get the memo though it seems. Ps, prac is also great for blowing off some steam. Sit there and do your combos to get it out of your system. lol.

EDIT: 19:12 has to be my favorite moment here: Phil, full screen away(!), jumps in with a kick. It is a complete mystery why he does that. There is no chance of that attack even coming close to hitting ken. And right after that he says "there is no strategy to what HE [the Ken player] does". Bizarre. You can see in the game against Guile that he has no patience and never adapts. With the parry function you can just advance slowly while parrying his booms. At some point you need to take a risk, but you don't need to jump and with MK, when you aren't even in range to hit. Also, if you see someone instantly doing DI after you do a DR (cancel), then you just fake an attack and DI back. It's silly. He keeps whining about pattern players, but he also plays patterns - unfortunately for him, his pattern sucks. In his matches against Ken, you can see that he lacks a lot of knowledge (he even admits it). The stuff those Kens are doing isn't safe.

I've seen a few Platinum Giefs on KZbin and I have to say that DSP has to be about the scrubbiest. Throwing out random normals with no plan and zero sense of spacing, trying to counter with slow buttons, complaining that he can't stop projectiles while ignoring block and parry. This guy is the epitome of the kid that lets his older brother Smurf his account so he can show his homies that he got a high rank, only to fold like origami the moment he has to play.

The thing I find weirdest with his Gief is that he doesn't even try to use SPD in neutral. He'll use light SPD at point blank range after a jump in but never in neutral. It's absolutely bizarre that he doesn't use the character's scariest tool, so he ends up being the least threatning Gief player ever.

I agree jump neutral and standing mediums are way to safe in this game. Nuetral jumps work as an escape way on too many moves. On SF3 jumps are like being on the moon... on this jumps are like a quick dodge move.

You can't really neutral jump on reaction against move though. Maybe only DI is slow enough to be done so, normals you can't, for Drive Rush the problem is he always commits into it when you can easily do empty drive rush into Lariat. Opponent is not reacting to the attack but to the drive rush. For SPD it's all prediction, and seeing him I bet his setup for SPD is way too telegraph.
