13:15 THIS is the deep down core issue right here. Dsp NEEDS to feel like he is different than all the rest of whatever we are discussing. He plays sf differently, he reacts, not pattern play. He streams differently. In the past he would say how he doesn't act like a clown and others do. Now he says he is a game finisher and everyone else will quit theirs before finishing. THIS is always present no matter what year you look at. He HAS to try to explain how he is different. Better. Above the others . It's a cope. Because if he doesn't do this, he will have to accept that he is just another mediocre mid level gamer at best and low level streamer across the board. His whole persona, his whole tiny tidbit of self esteem is completely dependant on him "not being like everyone else".

Nothing like saying "I FINISHED SO MANY GAMES" when we have literally dozens of games he just outright quit on camera. Also, streamer streaming JUST TO FINISH a game no matter if he or his audience likes is like a chef trying to make as many dishes as possible and get them out the door, even if half of them are half-baked and nobody likes them. Quality over quantity is an unknown thing to him.

I will always love how he moves the goal post for what a rage quit is. Because he initially enjoyed the game and played a certain unknown amount of time for it, like 20 hours. Well then he didn't rage quit. Even though he was getting pregressively more mad, turned off the game in a mad state, said things like "This game sucks, and the devs are assholes" or "I hate this" But no.... definetly didn't rage quit the game. Didn't rage quite Mario wonder, cause he definetly did not get to the final level then fume about how he had to do the whole level in a single run. A common thing for final missions in mario games since Mario Galaxy. He couldn't cheese it like he did with Odyssey through a glitch that was patched days later. Also definetly didn't rage quit MK1, cause he definetly did not get angry in every match cause it was fast paced and had different mechanics than Street fighter. Then got super mad that MK1 beat Street fighter in being nominated at the game awards. Definetly did not rage quit that game and hold a grudge.

So the comment was "You hold yourself to a higher standard, when you start a game you have to finish it" and then Phil replies to that with "I commit to try and finish the games. I try to finish the games no matter what my hate watchers say" Like wtf? The whole meaning of a rage quit is him trying to finish a game and failing ! The guy cant even complete some matches in Cod and rage quits them!

His need to stick to a schedule is borderline insane. It's one of many factors that make people think he's on the spectrum. The rigid adherence to a schedule ONLY HE is responsible for, the fact that he VERY RARELY seems like he's actually talking to his audience (always looking to the sides, swaying...), the inability to see things from another point of view or take any sort of criticism... I have a son on the spectrum, and he's had many of these issues. Thanks to therapy and the right school environment, he's transcending those issues and is actually becoming a decent human being. Sadly, due to his extreme narcissism, Phil will never seek the diagnosis OR the therapy he so desperately needs. Because he does NOTHING wrong, he does EVERYTHING right.

He sticks to his schedule because if he just streamed at random times, his pigs and whales wouldn’t know when to come and throw disabled checks at him. If he’s consistently streaming at the same time, the same people will show up, and the same people will support and tip. If he disbands the schedule for his own sanity or to spend more time with his wife, he’s hurting his business’ reliability, resulting in less support. That being said, I agree with everything you said. Sound good?
@TheModelGamer
@TheModelGamer 10 ай бұрын
@spinnaker2567 there's a bit of a difference. Yes, as a streamer, having a schedule is important. The difference is, with normal people, if something happens, then the stream is pushed back or canceled. With Phil, if it's scheduled, he mentally can't change it. Case in point. When his internet went out, he said he couldn't have the tech come out on his "day off" because he had appointments, one of which was getting his hair cut. Now, if it were me, I'd be like "Okay, have the tech come tomorrow and I'll just get my hair cut some other time." But with Phil, sticking to HIS schedule on that day was more important. That's the big difference.

I appreciate your input and expertise - I sensed something was up with Phil the moment I discovered who he was years ago, and my suspicion has always been that he has a very mild place somewhere on the spectrum. It's hard to make that case convincingly because DSP tries so hard to be an adult in all areas of his life. He manages just the right amount of competence, but his inability to read lots of social cues (or maybe, his refusal to read them) just feels...off. I've always felt bad making this argument because DSP gives those already ON the spectrum a bad name - people like your son strive to be more, to do more with their lives, so lumping DSP onto that spectrum with them feels like an insult to those with legitimate spectrum struggles.

DSPs schedule obsession reminds me of a flaw of mine. Where i have a downswing of depression and i bounce back with a flurry of plans about how im going to fix it all. But instead of actual change its like, im going to clean everything, sleep and exercise on a schedule, and run this squeaky clean house and life. Thatll make me feel energetic enough to make big plans. But life just devolves into meaningless busywork that avoids any addressing of problems While its important to plan sometimes i find some of my biggest breakthroughs come from saying, hey lets do something unplanned today. Lets buy a new decoration, lets go to the gym late at night, try a new recipe, lets just play an old game i havent touched in ages. Breaking routine reminds you that you have choice in your life. Phil truly believes he has no choice and his rigidness reinforces this every day.

10:50 is like the only time he even acknowledges his audience exists and it’s to make sure nobody gets it in their head that he might not need their money Then at the end of ranting *at* his dents for like an hour he congratulates himself on having such a productive “discussion.” He’s insane.

Who is he explaining this too ? He is asking his customers to pay for the materials to produce the product, then demanding they pay again for the finished product. What a con man .

If only DSP would play a game that allowed one to do a lot of different things and do challenge runs...but DSP only cares about easy games and chases that first day views...

Robocop is an excellent game. I'm usually super cynical of modern day gaming but it's a great showcase of the unreal engine 5 with tight gameplay, and it has deus ex world building mechanics. It even manages to have organic ( not forced ) commentary on existentialism , cyberpunk tropes, and corporate buyouts of public services/ law enforcement. Sleeper hit of 2023 imo

In your opinion is it worth the full price or wait a bit and scoop it up on a good sale?
@k-ondoomer

@PutridPenguinPoots first off I'm a huge boomer shooter fan so I'm biased, and I also rarely buy games so it's less of a cost for me, I think there's a demo, but as good as the game is I'd wait till it's 30 / 40 for most people. It's a niche old school fps with light deus ex rpg mechanics. If you frequently buy games, it'll be on sale sooner rather than later as it's not a AAA title

idk why he really wants to play super mario rpg, he already knows people werent fucking with his wonder playthru, why play another mario game so fast right after that??? no one wants to see that shit, and all hes gonna do is complain about the lack of support for mario, the best way to solve this "dilemma" all he would have to do is make a poll and ask what game should he play, if he was an actual interactive streamer he would already be doin this, but at the same time if he plays the game with the most votes and if he doesnt reach the tips goal hes gonna be pissed and say "idk man U GUYS VOTED FOR THIS GAME, and now you arent supporting it whats up with that? i knew this would happen"

Here are my problems with DSP's logic. He complains about Robocop being 60 dollars FPS game which is fine.. but has 0 problem and no issues when buying ANY nintendo game for 60 dollars which has a resolution of a nokia 3310. Also adding more brain damage, he asks his dents what games they wanna see but then screams that he doesn't want to play baldurs gate 3. Keep up the good content as always, enjoying the audio gaming while fallout 3 gamin.
