He should be able to control himself and manage his finances like a normal person so he doesn't have to beg until well past his wife's bedtime. But he doesn't, and instead he uses his wife to throw a pity party. Just like when he used his parents to throw a pity party, just like when he used his cat to throw a pity party, and even his wife has been used multiple times to throw pity parties - every time the only objective is so that he can get more money, but he has nothing to show for it because he ends up needing even more money. That is a clear sign of financial mismanagement. He is completely incompetent at running a business. If he wants to use the restaurant analogy, this is the chef stepping out from the kitchen and begging on the curb for donations - chef ain't even cooking and the restaurant is closed, but he still wants more money, and he is blaming the customers for not paying him up front.
