Actually a lot of grandmaster games are like that. They say what they have to, no more, no less. They don't care about what you do in the beginning unless its about team comp.

5:52 He's actually right. It's easier to get SR with a 1 trick uncommon hero because of the changes they made this season. They now base your stats off of the average of other players using that hero. So, if you play an uncommonly played hero and are really good at it always getting above average stats for that hero, you'll gain more SR. It is how some 1 tricks with under a 50% win rate climb rank.

Well you have to also consider how much harder it is to climb with non-meta heroes due to throwers and the fact that they are uncommonly played because they are genuinely harder to play due to their unusual playstyle. I think its abusable but not broken by any means. If you can play torbjorn only in all situations, then you should be able to climb faster than someone who mains soldier, who is much easier to play in those same situations.

Yeah, it's not too big of a deal, but it is a bit of a problem. There's a 1-trick Widowmaker that was a few SR off of top 500 with a 44% win rate. It encourages people not to swap, and inflates 1-trick player's rank higher than their rank should be.

If you play a one trick and people throw, you wouldn't actually be affected that badly. Your MMR would remain the same because its not based on win/loss but individual performance. That way you lose less SR but gain more. This means they'll keep putting you with people in the same MMR stats, because those who throw will most likely be pushed down in MMR, meaning you'll get in a team full of people who actually want to win quite often, and they'll be forced to play around you and you'll get your SR.

When you one trick an underplayed hero, you get more Sr for each win, since the game compares your stats to the stats of other people who play that hero at your skill level. Since there are fewer torb players, it's easier to be an above average torb player, especially since you're playing and practicing him all the time. Since you're better than the other torb players in your elo, you get more Sr for a win and lose less for a loss.

It's somewhat similar to a hero in Heroes of the Storm, The Lost Vikings. Not many people play them, so not many people are good at them. But, the people who do play them are really good, and can make it work, so they have an above average winrate.

torb is also a character frequently used to throw. Which makes the other torbs at the same rank really bad torbs, which in turn makes it easy to be better. Keep in mind though that at some ranks there are good torbs so it might not work all the time.

There aren't many torb mains actually so with him one tricking torb it means that when comparing to other torb mains he probably trumps them, leading them to have higher SR gains. Whilst there are prob millions of Genji mains hence one tricking Genji would earn lesser SR than for SAY a Torb or Sym

Its actualy true, you get more sr as a onetrick (considering you are probably better than the average of that hero) because your sr gain is determined by your performance with one hero compared to the average play with that hero from players similar to your current elo
