DT Racer Gameplay (first video for 2024)

Random game I been playing on my own time. It might be one of those game I might record in the future although I am not sure when. I do not have plans as of what list of racing games I want to record so video posting might be slower than this year compare to 2023. If the video quality looks a bit worse compare to other games that were play on pcsx2 that is due to a visual glitch in this game where DX11, DX12, Vulkan and OpenGl have on this this game, so until that gets fixed software mode is the only way to run this game without having really bad graphical glitches.

Oh hi, yeah life been busy since I got promoted to full time. I just posted a video for the new year since my “games to record list” is empty for this year. So recording might be much slower this year compared to last year. I’ll try to come by the streams when I have time

This game doesn't have a good reputation mainly because of the driving physics for people that played this game but tbh if you know what you are doing the cars are easy to control but some cars are a nightmare due to fishtailing. I will try to post more videos about this games

Not sure how drifting works in this game, since the cars would often spin out or understeer.

it is pretty random and most of the time when it understeers unless you have really good reflexes and are able to catch the car before it drifts you'll most likely end up spinning out since cars in the game like to have full commitment on drifts whether it is to help you or not. I have turned off drift assist as there was something oddly going on with the physics if you turn it on

I'm glad you gained the ability to play this because for me controller nor wheel doesn't matter everything while racing is awful. And it's not just the physics, the blur effect is too extreme and the camera is too low and far, everything makes high speed impossible. I really wanna like this game but its just pain, im only capable of playing carnage. Thank god for the cheat I GUESS

The camera doesn’t really bother me until you hit high speeds then that’s where it become a problem because how far the camera is. On top of that this game has weird issues on certain cars if you turn too hard left or right for long periods of time you will suffer the spin effect you would get in Mario kart 64 and the crash team racing series. When you crash and try to recover you only have two options and there is no in between; you either have stand still or full throttle so you can’t turn slowly if you trying to recover from a spin out. Though despite those issues I have way more control with the cars and are able to predict what they do unlike nfs 2015 unless you are playing the unite mod.

​@@saltiestcrystala hood view would've been great, from what I remember the bumper view is too low. I have the game but it's just been so long since i've played. It's a real shame, the atmosphere, car and track design, even music is all great but everything goes downhill when the race starts... What would you say is the easiest and worst car to drive?

@@MIIIVideo from my experience its the bootleg dodge viper. I cannot tell you how much it is a day and night difference driving the car you see in this video compare to the bootleg viper. I have spun out so many times because of that car, if I was modder I would make some adjustments to driving as I myself feel there are weird issues in this game that makes the cars drive badly or odd. When I was playing this game I was expecting worse but when I notice how much control I have over my cars it was more comfortable for me to adjust to this game compare to nfs 2015

@saltiestcrystal I just hopped on, I guess my mind made it seem worse than it actually was, for a second I was having fun. I also managed to forget their is a 3rd cam that has a lot of angle so it's easier to see over the car. I'd say there isn't too much difference in the cars handling its more like they have their own personalities, I like how the NSX drives but either way turning at very high speeds full throttle is a death sentence.. I also tested the driving assist, for god's sake leave them on. It's so weird it's like if you're turning for too long, the car has a very slow reaction to stop and braking is horrendous like the cars don't have ABS and its easy to get into a drift its so crazy! Surprisingly this game is compatible with a wheel unless i'm remembering incorrectly and it's DT carnage or both idk. To make things more interesting I use a technique I call clutch shifting, I like playing racing games in manual and when I shift I released the gas just before shifting, I do this in most racing games because it adds emersion but this fixes the weird jump shifting. Besides physics the major issue has to be lighting on certain tracks. The bootleg Nurburg for example when going through the tree area u can barely see ANYTHING. This also makes night tracks an eyesore especially with that blur effect at high speeds. I mean I wouldn't call this game completely terrible I think Juiced is just as hard if not harder. Just some tracks are best avoided. The AI is uhh... not smart but that makes them fun. DT carnage is definitely better, better physics, more tracks, more cars, I was actually able to fairly beat it without going try hard. If not for the Grand Prix cheat DT Racer would be an absolute flop but really it is because a casual can not handle it so 2 players isn't as fun as it could be. DT carnage tho is interesting and easy enough for a casual to at least try and beat it

I normally don’t post this length of video just to give you a heads up since my videos are normally 2x to 5x longer than what you are in this video Also I technically don’t have any recording plans at the moment but at one point in 2023 I wanted to play some ps1 games on the channel but I could look into the pc version of those games if they are not a hassle to run on modern windows os.
