And thannn I finded your Bash scripting tutorial , well explained and the videos are in great quality although they were uploaded 7 years ago. Your if statement was flawed. You added no input in the first terminal command and it said there was a file and it was a directory, same as when you inputted a directory

At the 12:00 mark you say "it didn't work cause I didn't pass through the directory"... but look again. The script DID work.

The default of passing nothing or NULL value is True, so it DID work.
