DTXplorer Built-in sounds vs Addictive drums

My five year old DTXplorer is reborn! Plugin it to my computer via MIDI, using reaper and addictive drums I can now play with incredible sound.
I'm just uploading this to show the impressive difference between The DTXplorer module and the addictive drums Plugin :)

You need Addictive Drums 1.5 or higher, because earlier versions didn't contain the MIDI Map feature. This meant that you could only select pre-set mapped kits, and the DTXplorer was not one of them. In 1.5 you go to Beats > MIDI Map > and you have to custom map each trigger to the sound you want. It's not very hard, and there are tutorial videos around to help you with this.

hi can you share how did you do that? because im having a problem connecting it im using focusrite 2i2 to pro tools 12. i already bought some midi cable to usb .it shows to the computer when i plug it in. also in the protools it recognises the midi . but the probl;em is what plugins do ni need to use and how to connect it thank for the answer>>. sorry my is kind of bad. im from philippines

The extra input is on the kick drum pad mount thing.

the addictive drums sound 100% better and thats why i want to hook my kit up but i need some help. i have asked MANY people (with no response) and searched the internet high and low but no clear tut that worked for me. i know its possible but nothing ever works for me i guess. if you could post a tutorial or something that would awesome!

Is there a way you can add presets from drum software to the drum module? That way you wouldn't have to have a laptop to use the presets?

CelluloidHoax no? The module wouldnt be powerful enough to make sounds that realistic anyways...

Help! When I tried to connect my Dtxplorer module to my laptop using MIDI to USB cable, addictive drums monitor doesn't respond when I hit the pad even though it recognized the cable. I've been trying for days now.

I know that is a huge delay between your post and my reply... I'm almost sure that u had problems with your midi/usb interface, don't use cheap interfaces they tend to give some problems, bad connections, delays or anything else... Grab an ESi or an Roland usb/midi cable, I had the same issues trying to connect my FC-300 on the BIASfx, then I swapped the cable and I didn't have anymore problems. Good luck!

can this drum kit be used to trigger samples from a computer or other patches from a sound module? and would there be any latency?

Yes since it sends a midi signal, you suposed to trigger anything you want from (for example) ableton live, I don't feel any latency with asio drivers, best to have a dedicated sound card I think :)
