Don't worry about Dianne, she got away from the horde and survived by eating David's leg. She lives with her aunt in Birmingham and stays in touch with Shaun & Liz. Not making that up, the DVD extras have a short film starring Lucy Davis called Blood & Ice Cream that follows Dianne after the Winchester incident.

What I love about Shaun of the Dead is that so much of what happens throughout the film is foreshadowed at the beginning of the film by Ed in the bar during the "It's not the end of the world" speech: “We’ll have a Bloody Mary first thing" - Zombie in the backyard (whose name is Mary) "A bite at the King’s Head" - Shaun's stepdad getting bitten "Couple at the Little Princess" - They go to pick up Liz, Di, and David "Stagger back here" - Staggering like zombies as they imitate them to move through the horde to the Winchester "And bang, back at the bar for shots!" - Using the rifle at the Winchester to kill zombies Even the ending is announced earlier, when Pete is yelling at Ed, saying, "You wanna live like an animal? Go *live in the shed* , you thick fuck!"

Also when the kid first kicks the ball at Shaun, Shaun points at him and says "You're dead". And when Pete has a go at them for playing music late Ed mutters " Next time I see him, he's dead".

And then of course to most infamous callback, "You've got red on you." Here are a few more callbacks/easter eggs in the movie Every single object has a meaning. The Electro record that Ed threw at the zombie was there because Pete threw it outside last night. Barbra finds the flowers than Shaun was suppose to give to her but gave to Liz in the trash after he threw them away after their breakup Zombie Nelson (the shopkeeper) is holding out his hand when Ed and Shaun are about to leave their neighborhood because Shaun still owns him money Every side character you meet in the intro comes back as a zombie. Obviously there's Mary, but also the hoodie guy in the scene with the title is the one who bit Phillip in the neck, the one armed zombie was behind Shaun at his first trip to the shop, the guy who bit Barbra is at the bus station in the scene prior, Snakehips was being eaten (surrounded) by women, the zombie to first notice the gang when they got to the Winchester was the Coccoidal Maniac, and way more. Shaun used to work as a DJ and his full name is Shaun "Smiley" Riley. Shaun helping Ed with his game comes back to play when Ed helps Shaun aim to shoot at zombies The whole movie is based off of an episode of "Spaced," the TV show that Simon and Edgar worked on, where Simon's character was playing Residential Evil 2 for too long and starts seeing zombies everywhere. Shaun's business and the place he was supposed to book a reservation with Liz are named after people who worked on famous horror movies. The DVD has three plot holes that show how Shaun gave the zombies the slip (he did but just one of them noticed), how Diana survived the hoard of zombies by climbing into a tree and eating David's leg, and how zombie Ed ended up in the shed. Please check out the rest of the Cornetto Trilogy. Especially the World's End. I know it's not everyone's favorite, but it's criminally underrated.

The line in Night of the Living Dead is "They're coming to get you, Barbara." So, it's not the exact line, but it is definitely a homage. I just realized that the Barbaras in both films spend most of the time in shock or in a daze. I'm guessing that's also intentional.

The movies in the Cornetto Trilogy are not really connected. Not story wise at least. Just that it's the collaboration of Edgar, Simon, and Nick, and their style, and that someone eats a Cornetto. They all started out together with a TV show first called "Spaced", to include Jessica Hynes, who played Yvonne. That was the joke of Yvonne's character in the movie. The TV show was based off Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes being flat mates.

I do find it rather annoying when reactors feel the need to chastise characters in a movie, like they’re not written to be that way. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it feels more like self promotion of what a ‘great person’ they are, instead of just watching the friggin’ movie. Sorry, I didn’t explain that very well, I just woke up from a nap.

Every extra in the pre-zombie scenes are the zombies that make up the horde at the end, all the same people and they were all paid 1 pound a day, just like the extras in Romero's Night of the Living Dead who were paid $1 a day. The extras on Dawn of the Dead were volunteers, zombie fans and family members of the crew, they also got paid $1 a day. People just want to be in zombie movies even if they don't get paid.

Go live in the SHED!" :D Just one of a gajillion little foreshadowing gems. (I'm not saying you should have EXPECTED to see Ed in the shed at the end, just by that comment; just highlighting Wright's writing style, and how you pick of tons of stuff in a second viewing.) The Cornetto trilogy is more an anthology than a real trilolgy They share many things (director, writers, actors, props, reccuring scenes...) but it's 3 different storys making hommage of 3 genres with a matching color cornetto associated at one point in the movie Shaun of the dead : red cornetto (gory/zombie movies) Hot fuzz : blue cornetto (cop/crime movies) World's end : green cornetto (alien/scifi movies) Fun fact, the red cornetto is an "hangover cure" Edgar Wright used when he was younger About the funny fight scene synced with Don't stop me now, Edgar Wright re used the idea and made a whole film on this with Baby driver where almost everything you see in the movie is synced with the music the main character listen (especially the car chase scenes)

The continuity is outstanding nothing is wasted not even the flowers. There is a very good reason why the Cornetto Trilogy is up their with the best trilogies of all time. Plus you pick up on something new every rewatch it's great. Oh and how is this for foreshadowing, Ed reveals the plot in the pub whilst trying to cheer up Shaun. As a person who had a dart bounce off the metal wire rim of our dart board as a kid and had it land in my bare foot... that dart in the head part kinda, gets me every time. You'd also be very surprised at what people can ignore around them when they want too... its a special human 'gift'. From what ive seen you appeared to get all the jokes, and even noticed them coming alot of the time which is great so I wouldnt worry to much about bits going over your head you've done a hell of a lot better than some American YTers in that area. Although with all teh movies in the Cornetto Trilogy watching each one a few times you notice a few things you missed in the background or that didnt click the first time around, its what makes them perfect films. 'Worlds End' is **two thumbs up** great as the last of the trilogy, definitely in my own opinion the best of the 3 or at the least equal to Hot Fuzz... and now i have "Dont stop me now" stuck in my head for tonight, much worse ways to spend a Saturday night lol

I love the Cornetto Trilogy (and other well-made action comedies) because they manage to be funny, and fun, and also manage to be emotional and pull on your heartstrings. I think that’s what sets great comedies apart from just average ones.

"Do you know that arcade game where you got cute little animals and you just gotta bash them in the head?" I never realized until now how much the violence against cute animals as a game was misrepresented in our childhood as "cute". lmao
