Does using 2 3-ways in stereo sound good? I always thought, as the enclosure doesn't have any chambers and the speakers are wired in stereo, the speakers won't vibrate in the same order, which can make it distort.

Super killer Box. I imagine Steven Perry foolish hart. Lol I’m a 70’s. Love 6x9s
@dtwistrewind73616 жыл бұрын
6x9s are designed for free air on a parcel shelf,the box needs a large port or the speakers will eventually get damaged due to excessive internal resistance when driving anywhere near optimum volume, I'm not hating I'm just suggesting and I like your build.
@carloslemus22846 жыл бұрын
I wonder, Would you still get the bass you are looking for? Reason I ask, I was left with some sony 6x9 and have a older l200 double cab pick up truck.
@dtwistrewind73616 жыл бұрын
@@carloslemus2284 it think as long as you get the port dimensions right you should be able to tune the bass between 30-40hz at a decent volume, it would probably work quite well in your pickup but please use mdf and don't use this osb board it has terrible acoustic property's and is nowhere near as dense and rigid.

@@dtwistrewind7361 Thanks, already have a full sheet of MDF. just need to make sure the measurements are right and start to cut.

why not have air holes?
@TheWorkshop6 жыл бұрын
Air holes give the sound a more "loose" sound, allowing the speaker cone to go through its full range of motion freely, where as this enclosed system restricts that movement giving a "tighter" tone. If that makes sense. I have been told that all 6x9 speakers are designed to be in "open air enclosures" so maybe I'm not fully informed on which style is better, but I CAN tell you that since these are not in a vehicle scenario, I like the sound quality a lot better with an enclosed box.

Who uses osb for boxes ???????
@MrMarnix12345 жыл бұрын
Nobody. The vibrations resonate a lot against the OSB. Especially the lower frequenties will make the enclosure resonate. The polyfill will make that up a bit, but it's better to use MDF (fairly heavy) or birch plywood (baltic birch is the best).
@janithpresange95637 жыл бұрын
Hi uh i think you forgot the bass hole. So is it necessary for a bass hole ?
@TheWorkshop7 жыл бұрын
No, the current setup produces as much bass as the speakers will give me, but instead of them giving the "looser" more "vibrating" bass that you're thinking (I.E. big subs) this will make it more concise and "hard hitting" which plays better to the design of these speakers seeing as though they are not large 12 or 15 inch subs. (or even 8's. the point is these speakers are not designed for that)

Just some normal cotton fluff from a craft store will work fine, if all else fails, the fluffy fiberglass insulation that is used in construction might do the job just as well

Would it be possible to get some minimal bass?
@falunyip3 жыл бұрын
absolutely, the best way to get minimal bass is to carefully cut 2 vented hole-ports large enough to reach precisely from the dust cover to the surround on each speaker cone, directly across from each other, and install high pass filter-capacitors on the positive cable of your speakers, i would use something with a 300hz cut off range. You'll get the best minimising results from this mod by performing it on a high performance premium subwoofer. That's the best method to get some minimal bass, you can thank me later.

whats that white thing bro ..that yo placed inside the enclosure
@TheWorkshop7 жыл бұрын
That would be cotton padding That you can purchase from any hobby store. I don't know the exact science that's going on, but I believe it slows down the air waves and vacuum that is formed behind thee speaker and helps the sound quality. I could be completely wrong with WHY it works, but every sound enclosure I've ever seen has it in there.
