Welcome to my first Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries Campaign Playthrough. In this video I will show you the gameplay of a full missions as well as the MechLab where you customize your Battlemechs. Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is a game about stompy Mech action. You take command of a mercenary company and try to grow your income, salvage Mechs and hire Mechwarriors. The game includes a campaign with a vast storyline.
The gameplay is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story.

Burst fire on big calibers is terrible IMO. They are too slow and spread too much damage. Big slugs need one or two good shots to rip off legs and just a couple more to sledgehammer through a CT.

I ran this build for a long time quite successfully but the 'Mech really does take a beating because of the close engagement range. Eventually I shifted to dual Gauss, which is far more efficient in killing "Mechs, and safer too (less damage received). I never tried AC20's (only used the BF version) though I have two Tier 5 AC20s in my inventory. Maybe I'll dust them off and try them for the heck of it.

When you get your timeline past 3045, you will see lostech like ER large lasers, gauss rifles, double heat sinks and ER PPC regularly. Also, if you get to 3049, you will be able to find enhanced mechs like the AS7-K Atlas and the AWS-9M Awesome with an XL engine. It runs 64 KPH. Also the occasional Star League era mech might be for sale like a 732B highlander. Keep an eye out for those.

Could have taken both mechs there at the very end of the last mission... 21 salvage, mechs were 13 and 7. Would have gotten 2 million more in salvage value.

Tried a King Crab with uprated single-shot AC20s, if your aim is good you can pop mechs like party balloons.

Try LBX solid x2 in the chest (no convergence issues and more accurate for sniping plus higher up) and LBX shotgun x2 in the arms (shotguns have less need for convergence than solid shots and they work great for anti aerial) for the Annihilator. I've got tier 4 of them all in mine, and it rips through mechs insanely fast plus same ammo. Also, you NEED to find a Sleipnir! It blows the Nightstar out of the water!

I used a mech you get with 4 of them on it. I was head shooting everything that came up in the last ramp in the campaign mission. It was awesome. I tried the Gauss rifle, but it did not seem like it as as effective.

Currently running double gauss cannons on my King Crab. Not quite as much damage per hit, but it lets me hit those scout mechs and heavy tanks just before they get really close and begin to circle strafe.

I have bought this game because of your playthrough. I was gonna skip it since the reviews are not very promising but you just made it seem so entertaining that I suffered through the early hours and played through the entire campaign. One issue though, I have seen you overheat plenty of times and was wondering if there is any reason why you just dont use the safety override so you don't shut down.

theres alot of cool and usefull Mods coming out for MW 5 Baradul, on Nexus. TTB is checking them on his channel, i suggest u take a look at least to see if theres anything u think could be usefull for u and/or improve ur (and consequently our) enjoyment of the game ^^ great Episode as usual, tho i think AC20 KC would work better, the BF ACs on such high caliber just have way to many bullets so the dmg gets spread out way to much. and Dual AC20s are real Cockpit killers ^^ either way look forward to see what other builds u come forward with in the future, keep up the good work =)

This build is exactly what I used to beat the campaign with. Just get within 300 meters and you melt anything and everything.

I personally like the Stalker. Have one where it mounts five medium lasers, a PPC, and four LRM 10-STs. It does an amazing job of melting enemies at range-though it overheats pretty quickly if I go all out (had to sacrifice heat sinks for ammo storage to keep the LRMs from running dry too fast).

Exactly, it’s like taking the absolute worst part of what PGI called “clan auto cannons” and using it intentionally. The whole point is the pinpoint damage, not a rac 2 firing ten times. That’s the point of the rac. If you want your damage to spread use the bloody lbx.

I think its the higher ROF and bigger DPS. but with the AC20s the recoil is to much to be worth. Better off with shooting 2 slugs and twisting like a boss.

The time it takes for the AC20 BF to finish firing is something to consider as well. I wonder if the increased ROF is meant to balance the fact that it takes more then a instant to fire the Burst fires. Probably same DPS then.

Because if u misleading your shot a bit there are 40dmg gone... A BF gives u the small chance of deal a litte bit dmg after adjusting your aim at the target... And btw it looks a little bit cool that minigun chain of bullets to be honest xD

I feel a weapon that punches holes and a weapon that finds holes are ac20 and machine guns. You shot a cicada with 5 ac20bf shots. No offence baradul but you might be doing it wrong lol. Two slugs would remove any part they hit :)

I have an annihilator with twin UAC5 and twin LBX. They do more dmg and put down mechs quicker than twin AC20BFs.

400 ton raid missions with 4x CDA-X5 running 4x Small Lasers and the biggest SRM's you can get into each one. I call it my mugger lance. Get in, punch them in the face, get out before the cops show up. Of course I have had it go wrong, but the repair price is nothing compared to bringing 400 tons.

Hi Love the video but as a newbie I would love to upgrade my mecs I h a 50 tonne c Centurion and also a stalker that's a 45 ton and a molar that is another 50 ton I would seriously love to upgrade these things to a little bit more like a 55 or 60 ton but where would I find them

my personal reason for not liking AC20 is the heat. their rate of fire is theoretical. you need substantial amount of heatsink for it. i prefer gauss for large ballistic hardpoint, they pretty much generate no heat, and thus only need to be fitted with ammo. then there is the problem with shot convergence. they converge on the reticle instead of the sensor lock range. this means for weapon that require shot leading especially if its 2 gun on each arms, they will not converge on the target since you wont be aiming it directly at the target. this in turn makes them only land on the same spot if the target is standing still.

I have a King Crab I had put in two AC/20 but with big alpha is big disappointment if it misses. I went for a 4x AC/5 BF, narc and ER Large Laser and Wow! Chews through pretty much everything.

that sounds like he would be way outgunned in endgame missions that almost always have 400 ton limit. but when/if he start a new game + sometime (theres a Mod now for it and its realy nice imo) then thats something to test out in middle-ish ton limits, and definitly something worth giving a try, all 4 are good mechs for a joyride ^^

Free advice for everyone: if you're uninstalling the game, make sure to backup your savegames manually, like we did in the digital stone age. Epic doesn't store them in a cloud. Had to reinstall Windows due to SSD failure and everything was gone. No more postgame with 60/60 Pilots, 6 Atlases, 3 Banshee 3S's, Nightstar, Heavy Metal, Blackwidow, among a bunch of other heroes, 20+ mechs in cold storage and mountains of lostech to fit everything out... 9d of playtime. gone.

That's actually not the worst part, all the savegames depend on a file called campaign.json. If this file gets corrupted, all the savegames are unreadable by the game. Happened to me when a power fluctuation restarted my PC, it corrupted this file. Fortunately, I'm running Backblaze (cloud backup) and I retrieved the campaign.json file from the day prior, so I only lost a few hours worth of play time.

I run a lance of K2 Catapults... not missile boats but they work pretty well, the AI pilots dont ruin your shit as often.

The corsair with 2 pics and 2 gauss is pretty disgusting and high level lancemates can use them very effective. The Lance mate ai seems to use battlemasters exceptionally well just put cheap guns in the arms.

This game doesn't let you "customize" mechs very much, but off the top of my head MW4's Atlas loadout could be done. PPCs, Gauss rifle, and LRMs would also be effective in 5.

If you like the 4x AC/2 BF setup - look for a Mauler - they are great fun! But poor armor in stock load out.

Yeah, i have MX90 one with 4x t5 AC/2 and it's fun. And armor is fine when you drop larget lasers for medium etc. Would be nice to have mech with 4x UAC/5, but i guess only anihilator can do that.

It tightens the spread which means more missiles will land on the Mech and the cluster deals the damage more focused.

I *loved* that in MW4, but it just doesn't work in PGI games. They recognize HOTAS, but the input isn't analog. Meaning that if you tilt the joystick just a little bit, it counts as simply pressing the keyboard key and you turn at full speed.

Hey baradul. erstmal vielen dank für den tollen kontent. gibt nix besseres zum runterkommen nach nem arbeitstag als deine vids. immer wieder schön deine positiv grundeinstellung zu sehen, weiter so. Kleine anmerkung zum gameplay: fänd es mal cool wenn du deinen grundgedanken den du paar episoden vorher hattest weiterverfolgen würdest. (ne Lurm lanze) das sollte gerade in 4er multimissionen nen sauberen output ohne zuviel gegenschaden geben, auch bei base defence solltest du dann schon im anrücken durch indirekten beschuss gegner auseinander nehmen können. vor allem könnte es auch bei den postionierungslegathenischen npcs evtl besser helfen als direkte waffen mfg crusader

for another play through you can try only 2 lance mates max it might be doable, in the beginning of the game its relatively easy but it will get harder as you get to the end

I play 98-100 difficulty 400-ton missions using only 2 lancemates (in Atlases) using dual Gauss (Nightstar or Cyclops Sleipnir) and I complete these missions without losing components, sometimes with fairly minimal damage (when the map allows sniping). This is already far beyond the campaign. The long engagement range of the Gauss rifles is important for survivability, so I doubt it would be easy with close range weapons like the AC20s.

@@perry92964 Not the campaign but the missions after it. I'm currently doing missions rated 100 in difficulty (400 ton limit) using only two lancemates. For the campaign, it might be doable BUT I'd need to delay the campaign and do a lot of missions to get high-tier stuff as well as get better lancemates (I have many pilots in my roster with perfect 60's). But in the end, it really boils down to using dual Gauss rifles effectively. Nothing kills mechs faster than repeated precision strikes to a single body part. I usually do center torso, but occasionally do headshots if the circumstances are right

Typical atlas u might like 4 mpl 2 srm 6 and an ac20 I run this with 3 other atlas 2 with gauss and lrms 1 another brawler like mine Might lose an arm or 2 but for long games 100 difficulty iv had my best luck with this Sorry cant remember the variant
