When recording, many people achieve a BIG guitar sound by playing the part twice, hard panning each take L/R. That cab is perfect for that; just mic the 12 for one take, the 10 for the other and get that glorious full sound that you're hearing in the room. Nice.

Great idea. Surprised it's not commercially available. Nice blend between the two speakers. I bet it sounds amazing live.

Thanks. Yeah, just waiting for the patent to be approved. 😀

Nice cabinet! Both speakers sound good, but I favor the 12" Creamback. I bet they do sound good together.

Thanks. They really do sound great together!

I have always wanted to try a Celestion G10 vintage which is a 10 inch V30 type speaker . Its got one very intereesting spec which is a 30oz magnet . Most 10 inch speakers have 14oz to 20oz magnets but the G10 vintage has a 30oz magnet which is the same weight as the magnets found on many G12 speakers such as G12M speakers . The only Amp I have with a 10 inch speaker is the DSL 5CR . I strongly dislike the Celestion ten 30 speaker so I always unplug it and use extension cabs with the Amp. Usually closed back cabs with 12 inch speakers and the amp sounds great with that set up especially closed back 2 by 12s . I would like to try the G10 Vintage with the 5CR but it sounds so much better with closed back cabs loaded with 12 inch speakers that I don't think I would use the amp with the internal combo speaker very much even with the better Quality G10 vitntage i don't want to take the risk and it turn out to be a waste money . A couple of the cabs I use with DSL 5CR have 12 inch V30s and another cab has 2 Marshall G12 vintage speakers which is a custom spec Celestion V30 built for Marshall .

That looks so good. I don't think I can find a tolex cabinet attractive again.

looks and sounds awesome!! I've been thinking of doing a 1x10 1x12 combo. I've got a monoprice 5 watt tube amp I run into an old bass practice cab with a Guitar Warehouse 10". I think it'd sound good with a bigger 2 speaker cab,

Love the build. Sounds great!! I’m gonna try to build something similar for my son. How did you wire it? Are the speakers wired separately, series, or parallel? Would you happen to have a wiring diagram? I’m just curious. Thank you.
@pearlandGUITARIST7 ай бұрын
Thanks very much. The speakers are 8 Ohms each so I wired them in series to make it 16 Ohms. The input jack is wired to + on one speaker and - on the other. There is a bridge between the other - & + on the speakers.
