Dual DCPA901 9" Single DIN Headunit - Apple Carplay & Android Auto

I bought one and just installed it yesterday. CarPlay works great and the screen is very responsive. The volume knob is a necessity for me, the main reason why I typically skip out on big screen head units. One thing I noticed it's missing is a HP crossover for the main channels RCA outs. Sound quality sounds fine, didn't notice any degradation from the previous Pioneer 80PRS it replaced. A few other missing features? No mp4 video playback or high rez display (1024x600). I will give it some time to determine if it's a winner or not, but I'm happy with it at this time. Thanks for the video, very helpful as always!

Big wiz I have the smaller version of this unit and figured out there is a hp filter that comes in when the lpf is activated and time alignment is set. There are a few other tricks to get the best sound out of it with the eq. I replaced a pioneer unit with this one and the sound quality is night and day. Just wish it had all of the fine tuning I'm used to being able to adjust.

Sure it was this exact radio because the one I’m looking at on Amazon shows it has usb video playback and it’s the same model number

The most appealing thing to me about this is its single din and checks off all the right boxes for me it's Android auto has Steering wheel control and not a flip out screen. And hi has a backup camera and a volume nob to boot. I'll probably pic this up unless I can find another single din around this price.

Must admit that I was biased going into the video when I saw the name Duel, but I think this video may have changed my mind. Pretty impressive when you consider that this is a budget HU with a big screen, CarPlay, and Android Auto. Based on prices nowadays, I think the $350 range makes this a bargain or at least a contender for those looking to go big with a volume knob.

Wouldn't hesitate based on the Dual brand itself, just the price tag. This should be a $200-$250 head unit. Also could use some customization options.

What did you mean “use the rear USB for both apps”? If I had this installed without a phone cable from the back, do I need to pull it back out, connect a phone cable? The side USB won’t work for CarPlay, yeah?

This appears to be exactly the same unit as the Jensen J1CA9. Both Jensen and Dual are sister companies and subsidiaries of Namsung America. The Dual unit sells for about $150.00 less than the Jensen on Amazon.

Nice looking Dual radio. The deal breaker for me with the Dual touchscreens is that their screens are not responsive at all. I have a Dual in my old Toyota and I get so frustrated having to touch the screen so many times just to get something to work. I get so mad at the radio I feel like punching the screen out. smh

This one is responsive. I was hesitant based on many comments about Dual head units, but my experience with this one is it's as fast or faster than any factory touch screen unit I've used (Including my 2019 F150).
