Very good comprehensive video. Useful in explaining the way the flush valve sliders adjust the amount of water. As it says in one place it is a bit of trial and error to get the desired result for the flush but never-the-less most helpful understanding provided.

thank you, this was really helpful. the low flush setting on mine is set to "full", sliding the low flush setting to mid-point solved it. If I set it too high up it stopped the moment I let go of the push button.

The dual-flush gadget I once had was much simpler. As I recall, it didn't have any plastic tank. It seems to me that it consisted of only some kind of metal or plastic extension/addition to the part of the lever inside the tank. I would have replaced it when it eventually broke, but there was no name on it. I may have to install one of the devices described here, but I'm going to search for the gadget I had first. It was simple, so I think it only cost a few bucks. Wish me luck.

My instructions say to start by setting the half flush slide all the way up for the least amount of water, and the full flush slide at the half way point. This video says to do the opposite (half flush at half way point and full flush at the highest setting for least amount of water). Which way is correct/better? Does it not make any difference which approach you take?

this is a great video but despite my best efforts, I seem to be stuck on the "1 chug" flush adjustment. The problem I have is that after the flush, the bowl doesn't complete refill. I've lowered the blue adjustment on the toilet and one time, the bowl fills to the correct level, but unless I hold the flush handle down, the next refill leaves the bowl level about half what it should be. Next "one chug" flush, there's a big bubble of air, and the bowl doesn't empty. Any thoughts?

Most of the bowl refill water comes from the tube at the top of the tank filler valve flowing water down into the bowl fill / overflow tube during the tank refill. Some installations have a little adjustable bowl fill valve and some others just have the bare tube attached to the over flow. Either way, make sure you are getting enough bowl refill water from the tank filler valve during the half flush cycle. Once the half flush refill is set correctly, there will be a little extra refill during the full flush of course, but that's fine. Hope that helps . . WSP

The tank refill time varies depending on tank size, water level and water pressure, but generally for the smaller half flush, only about 30 seconds to 1 minute and for the regular full flush, about 1 - 2 minutes.

I think this step [3:07] is where my install is failing. It is taking two flushes for my dual flush to adequately "chug" the liquids out. Even with maximum water setting on the flush system.

4:03 - here's what I'm seeing... with my quick/half flush float, even set all the way down for maximum water, there's not enough water in the bowl to chug. So I set my float on the existing fill valve to maximize the tank water. Still same results. So I guess I'm going to have to remove the fill valve and raise it up, huh? (to increase tank level)

Generally for all dual flush valves, the smaller slider is for the full flush and is lower down, while the larger slider is for the half flush and is further up.

Does the tank have to be empty to adjust the water flow level with the ones with the locks? I feel a lock in there but the toilet is installed with water in the tank. My toilet is running too long, I need to lower the float but I can't figure out how to adjust it. There is no screw.

Nevermind....somehow the float (which pops onto a plastic rod) got adjusted to the very top...despite it being extremely difficult to pop off and pop back on. I have no idea how that happened but I was able to lower it. Thanks

The float bowl is the blue box toward the top of the filler valve which contains the blue float. When the water fills the float bowl the float inside raises to shut off the fill water. You can see it in the static pic above all the way to the left.
