Nice! Not enough electronic producers are talking about dubmixing or even using it. But each to their own of course :)

This is awesome. I haven't really explored creative mixing or using mixing like an instrument or a music creation tool. It's definitely something I want to check out. It's annoying because it's making me look at performance mixers and I am also trying hard to avoid new gear in an effort to be more productive. More writing less exploring.

This was a great video on dub! Really loved this. The one thing I’m having troubles with on my setup is how you are routing all your fx. Maybe it’s a very simple thing but I can’t seem to wrap my head around how all your fx are routes like how you are running all your audio. Can someone explain this maybe somehow. If someone has some time or reads this. These videos are top notch. You are an awesome person :)

You can adjust the max value of the controllers fader to be 0db to make sure you don't go too hot in the channel.

I'm pretty new into mixing and deyaing and I wonder how it works to create such unique mixes, you play the songs through your daw, then you loop the parts and edit it through your filters and all, or how exactly does it work? I heard so many live mixes and I only recognized they play the tracks but while the dj is mixing he's extending the duration of most parts of the songs so it feels like they have every loop, instruments and sounds separate so they can drop it one by one on a button press or so. For example you take the song healing dub by rakoon and after two minutes or so there is a little break. After that the beat drops fully with all instruments and stuff, but in a live mix the dj just dropped the guitar part of it and let it loop for a while until everyone was heated up so then he could drop the full that also feelt like even the beat was boosted somehow. Did the dj archive that only through a setup like you showed or are there some loopmashienes and or MPCs involved where the dj can handle separate loops he prepared from songs he wanted to play? I know you have those feedback loops through the special cable setup, but still it sounds like magic what sone djs can pull up live.

Thanks so much, really love your way of sharing about gear and your process. Have you tried the Benidub Spring Amp 2? I'm considering getting one to have a natural spring reverb... being you are a Benidub fan thought you may have insight on that one.

Would be great if you could label what's coming into the main mixer channels, maybe some masking tape and a pen? Apart from that a great video. Almost. Peace

loving your content. wondering: if you have both a reverb and a delay on a send/return, how does the FX chain go? first the delay, then the reverb (as is usual), or is it more parallel?
@OoraMusic3 жыл бұрын
i usually have them on two separate channels, when i have in series i always have the delay before the reverb!
