You're not wrong. From a perspective of tempo it's basically the same like house music. The more you listen to it, the more you’ll realise it has a certain style of chord to it.

@@joenass Aha! I'll try listening for that style of chord. When I think of dub I always think of dub reggae from the 80s for some reason. Dub techno is new to me.

Also everything is drenched in reverb and delay effects - that's a big clue.

So it's characterized by those similar effects for ambiance that the Raggae has. Certain timing on the delay and reverb is a big one, muted kicks, flatter bass, etc. Look up the origins of it and you'll find that it was actually rooted in an electronic take on Raggae and coined by two guys in particular. If you were to say this is house then it would have to be Ambient house at the very least. But then if you compare ambient house and these tracks you can get the distinction. I always gravitate toward Dub over other House Sub-Genres for its unique flavor profile and acute distinctions. Enjoy the genre my friend! 🎧
