■ UAE EXCHANGE:
UAE Exchange is a rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The station was inaugurated in March 2011 and was expected to handle over 4,000 passengers daily. It was the last stop on the Red Line until June 1, 2021, and has a total handling capacity of 11,000 passengers per direction. It is the only metro station that is built on the ground, and is not elevated or underground. The station was previously called Jebel Ali, before it was renamed in June 30, 2015 to UAE Exchange following an agreement between Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and UAE Exchange. The naming agreement was inked as part of RTA's rebranding strategy.
The station is located next to another auxiliary depot used by the Dubai Metro. This is the second depot in Dubai Metro apart from the major depot at Rashidiya located near the Centrepoint Station, the last station on the other side of the Red Line and another depot located near the Etisalat metro station at the northern terminus of the Green Line. The station is located in Jebel Ali, and mainly serves employees working and living in the industrial zone of Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).
■ EQUITI METRO STATION:
Equiti Metro Station is a rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE, serving Al Quoz and surrounding areas. The station is named after the nearby Umm Al Sheif locality. The station opened as part of the Red Line on 15 October 2010. Former names include "First Gulf Bank" and then "First Abu Dhabi Bank" in 2018, before it was renamed as "Umm Al Sheif" in November 2020. Most recently it has been renamed "Equiti" on 18 April 2022, after the Equiti Group, for a period of ten years until 2032.
Equiti station is located on the Sheikh Zayed Road near the major junction with Umm Suqeim Street. Nearby is the Gold and Diamond Park, immediately adjacent to the station, including the Old Library building. As well as Al Quoz, surrounding neighbourhoods include the eponymous Umm Al Sheif itself and Umm Suqeim. The station is close to a number of bus routes.
■ TRAIN ROUTE:
Via Sheikh Zayed Rd and passes/ stops a total of 10 Metro Stations before reaching my final destination as follows: Danube, Energy, Ibn Battuta, Jabal Ali, DMCC, Sobha Realty, Al Khail, Dubai Internet City, Mashreq and Mall of the Emirates.
