This was my email 🙂 Hi Katy I watched your video kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5fLoaB_ptuAoc0 about your eye surgery and went to the same doctor for a free consultation when I was visiting Dubai in early August. Now I am planning my next trip, but I am not quite sure how to arrange my trip. So if my stay would be like 5 days, but I want to do one or two days of sightseeing, should I do this first and then do the surgery or the other way around? I am not sure how much you're restricted once you've undergone the surgery. Any feedback is highly appreciated, thank you! Kind regards, Manuel

@@IMlab hi manuel :) thanks! to be honest it is completely up to you but if you do it at the beginning of your trip, you'll be in dubai long enough to have a follow up appointment (where they check your eyes and make sure they're happy with everything) - but it does mean you'll have to wear sunglasses 24/7 whilst you're outside, for the duration of your trip. or, if you do it at the end of your trip, you'll miss out on the follow up but can enjoy dubai sunglass free up until your appointment and glasses do get pretty steamy!! if it was me i'd do it at the beginning - just so that you're in the right place if you need any aftercare. i'd deffo recommend an appointment time of 3/4pm, because after your surgery you just want to sit with your eyes closed, so you might as well get an early night and be sleeping! my appointment was at 3:30pm, my surgery took place at around 5:30pm and i was out of the clinic by 6:00pm. then i went to sleep at roughly 9pm! good luck!! it's all over and done with really quickly and it is flippin AMAZING seeing the world with your own eyes, not behind glass!! x

Wouldn't be funny to fly back to Dubai just for a check-up and some fixes :) I can't wait for the day to come when I can finally just go shopping for a new pair of sunglasses without getting a prescription first lol.
