I only reach 11 or 12 knots on waves for just a few seconds at a time tho. That must have been an epic downwind run to have made 34 miles in 3 hours.

Can this stroke be somehow recorded and presented? This is all very interesting. I'm only learning to use a Greenland Paddle and I use (you'll probably laugh here) an inflatable kayak with it. I can still get up to speeds of 8km/h with it, which is mindblowing! Canted blade is my current technique (still requires a lot of polishing) but seeing, learning, and knowing other ways is always interesting. Thank you for the story. Greetings from the UK, Tom
