'DUBI AMRITO PATHARE' is the 2nd song of the 'Tagore in Trance' series. This Dhrupad-style composition by Tagore has been musically reinterpreted with some elements of the electronic Trance music which emerged from Germany in the early 1980s. The lyrics and the tune of the song speak of a trance-like state of heightened consciousness, to which the musical arrangement adds a hypnotic dimension.

The overall performance is par excellence. Such unique thinking and treatment of a composition of the eternally modern and complete composer, Rabindranath Tagore, is a befitting tribute. Rohini and Nabarun Bose did a superbly splendid job. Moreover, when Tagore, as a dance composer and conceptualiser, is very less discussed, the essence of Bhaavnrityaa has so beautifully been encapsulated and embodied by Dancers’ Guild. The musicians laid out a soothing and befitting sea of comfort for the vocalist to put in her best. Tagore in trance has left the audience in trance too. Heartiest congratulations to the team and kudos to the director Debashish Raychaudhuri
