Hello,what a great channel,i just found you and i am learning so much with your videos. i played in Puerto Rico back in the 90s and finally i am back to play again. i used to be a chopper but now i play offensive, i am using butterfly marcos freitas with dignic 09c and 05, love the set up. do you do online or cam training? i also have the power pong 5000 that i used to practice. i wish that i can have a coach in person, but where i am from is almost no one. so im curios to see how would be to have a coach online that i can try and see if that help. thank you for the amazing videos.
@dublintabletennisclub3 жыл бұрын
Hey Abraham :), That racket set it up is mad fast. Are you confident you can control it / use it effiecntly in training? Trust me, getting a racket with more focused on control and spin is far more important than a fast one when returning / learning the game. But yeah I can help you coach online :) I have done that before Covid -19 and do it now as well :) Get in touch with me dublinttc@gmail.com and we can talk more in detail :) I'm happy to hear you are benefiting from the videos!!!

@@dublintabletennisclub Hi thank you for responding, the racket is a bit fast but it has a lot of control, I am pretty good with it, I think the combination with the rubbers is on point, even if I play closer to mid range it respond great, I don't like to play far away from the table so I did a lot of research and I felt that this blade and rubber fits pretty good for my style, sorry for my late reply, I been busy at work.

I subscribed. Only playing table tennis in VR, but I'll give this a go. Have you tried Eleven Table Tennis? Serving isn't as good in VR, but I'm surprised how enjoyable the game is.

Thank you for becoming a member of the club :) I haven't played Eleven, but the game by rockstar wasn't too bad to be honest on the old Xbox 360. If you need ideas / suggestions for your first racket let me know :)

I think I missed something, how is this different from a backspin serve? or is it that you a putting less backspin as there isn't much wrist movement on the serve compared to the backspin pendulum?
@dublintabletennisclub3 жыл бұрын
Exactly I put more follow through instead of backspin to create this FLAT serve :) There is no spin on it and that's the point. This serve / technique disguise the concept of backspin so opponent can make a mistake receiving it :)

@dublintabletennisclub3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get what you're going through! When you get to the end of the set / important part of the game then I used to do two things to help me psychologically. 1.) If its 8-8 or something like that in a draw. I would tell myself "I do not care if I lose both of his serve points. I do not care. I will see the ball and I will react. I miss I miss. I do not care" It''s sounds silly, but not giving so much care or fake pretend of not caring took away the stress, nerves and everything negative. Usually then I would win at least 1 point so it would be 9-9. 2.) Then when it is my serve I would do the "Flat serve" which I have done a tutorial for it.( kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGrYg4B8Zbx0hZo ) This serve was a tactic serve that 95% would work and earn me a point making it 10:9 in points. My second serve would be a serve / tactic that I know my opponent struggle with meaning like a backhand serve that with the correct spin gives me more probability chances of winning the point + a use it in a tactic that I know works. Also tutorial done for that ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJOyhIGlmbNjsNE) Hope this helps and sorry for the long reply. In summary I would have 2-3 serves that work as very good tactical decisions that earns me the important vital points. And if the opponent serves I just switch off my brain and not try to overthink meaning I just react as natural as possible. Which makes me brave so I can easier attack him. That old school expression "Less stress more success" :)

Same as a float serve. Hitting the ball at the back of your bat rather than front edge?
@dublintabletennisclub3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that or middle of the racket. It is same as a float serve which is disguised as a backspin short serve :)

How would an advanced player return this serve?
@dublintabletennisclub6 ай бұрын
With a flick, but more like a punch flick cause attempts of spin might carry the ball over the table by an inch. So yeah if you get attacked you will have a hard time returning it back cause a standard block won't work as effective when it comes to you with not as much spin. Again, a good way to read you opponents level is by doing this serve :)
