Dubrovnik’s City Walls (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE), Croatia

A UNESCO world heritage site, Old Town, is a finely preserved city due to major and neat reconstruction works. After the earthquake of 1667, Dubrovnik witnessed many reconstructions to keep the old look of the city as it is.
Dubrovnik is the most visited spot along this renowned coast, and its most picturesque. For travelers, Dubrovnik's single best sight is the still-stout medieval wall that surrounds this city of about 40,000, offering an unforgettably scenic mile-long stroll above town. While constructed over many centuries, today's impressive fortifications date from the 1400s, when they were beefed up to defend against the Ottoman Turks.
The views outside the wall are equally as stunning as those looking inside. The wall and surrounding area are featured in HBO's "Game of Thrones."
