John Selway, you are my new favorite instructor. You are crystal clear, and make perfect sense. Thank you much.

I don't know why I haven't gave this a thumbs up until now. I've been using this series as a reference and just a tool to stimulate my own motivation for years already! FTW!

Amazing, Mr. Selway (and with that also DubSpot)...only rarily you get so much years of music producing experience packed into such a compact and complete series of videos. Thanks!

One of the best tutorial series I've seen as of yet. You've given me a new perspective on the construction of a track. Really going to dive into this method and see what sort of crazy comes out of it. Greatly appreciated guys.

this tutorial is great because i as a beginner with no musical making knowledge i always try to get a melody and build around that but my melodies are always too cluttered im like a dog behind a keyboard trying this and here you go making something cool af with just by building it starting from one note and a baseline you opened my eyes!

I really enjoyed these 3 videos by John, he really explains things in a simple clear manner. I learned a lot about Operator with this, thanks.

That was great thanks Christian. One note makes so much sense, I finally understand that most of the techno records ive bought and loved over the years dont have a bunch of notes to.......less is more (movement is vital!)

This is a pure genius video. Although I did not succeed and I failed on turning my analog synth into that smooth, glorious groove machine, I pay my respect. I was using version 9 of Live, and somehow, my sound became not as powerful. I spent long hours, stopping the video many times and trying to understand why, but it will remain a mystery I think. I then used version 8 of live and followed the same steps, but the sound remained the same. WHY? Anyway, thank you Mr John. You simply rule.

Thanks for the tutorial dude. Ended up sounding like a really polished element for a nice track. I like the use of a limiter to catch peaks and the compressor to level it out, important to maintain energy after a big driving part of a track
@MadelnMachines11 жыл бұрын
Cool, I'm interested to see where this is going from a simple idea and part into a fully fledged production. I like how you've developed such a simple little sound into something that can be varied and tweaked into something more interesting as the track develops. This is shaping up to be a good one.

I like DubSpot tutorial videos for Ableton live but I wish DubSpot makes on how to make *acapella* or not sure what is the correct word for taking a audio track and just picking out the voice and taking out the music? DubSpot can you help use with that please? Thank you, keep up with the great tutorial videos :D

yeh both oscillators don't have the same output?? so when i pan one left and one right, one speaker is quite.
@jungleboywayne18 жыл бұрын
When i pan one oscillator hard left and the other hard right you can hardly hear one of the speakers???
@skaaaman7 жыл бұрын
did you find out what the problem was?
@catherineryan96257 жыл бұрын
I'm having the same problem. And to make things worse, turning down the 'loud' oscillator doesn't fix it because when I change other parameters then the previously too loud oscillator is too quiet.
