@@AnthonyShuker It did leave for a bit because brostep ruined the dubstep scene for a while. It was just noise at some point that was made to hype crowds for those trashy mega festivals. It's good that this kind of dubstep went back to the shadows since brostep fizzled out to nothing and this kind of dubstep can safely emerge back out.

The best part about good music, is its always been there. Those who know where to look will find it. It doesn't need a comeback.

Amazing how even though this track is over a decade old it still manages to sound alien/futuristic. New dubstep is honestly just a headache inducing mess of sounds.

You can still find some good stuff in modern Dubstep. It just depends on what you want to listen to. Check out XaeboR - Before I, Eptic - Jurassic, or any track from MONXX. The idea of average modern Dubstep sounding like a mess is kinda stereotypical tbh, personally I've never found any track genuinely terrible in sound design. There are some generic tracks indeed but there's so much more to listen beyond the mainstream stuff.
@chuckmangione47473 жыл бұрын
@@Ryan-mz4oe it’s just the modern growls and over the top high pitched noises that are used in a lot of songs. I like drops don’t get me wrong but I hate the modern formula of “lets start with some soft female vocals and then go instantly to some high pitched screechy bass.” The transitions don’t feel smooth like they used to and it comes off as producers trying way too hard to make drops brutal without worrying about a smooth transition. There are no surprises anymore that tickle the ear. This is just my opinion, I’m sure there is still some gold being produced out there.
@Ryan-mz4oe3 жыл бұрын
@@chuckmangione4747 That's kinda true. I don't really like the high pitched sounds either, that's one of the reasons why I prefer the deep old dubstep. That's something that came from Skrillex's brostep, and I think Dubstep is not really Dubstep if it's so high pitched. That's what makes it so hard to make difference between what we can call Dubstep and what we can call it's subgenres. It looks like the default Dubstep today is in fact, the subgenre brostep, while the roots of the genre were forgotten. The real Dubstep is almost totally dead. I won't really try to convince you to get into the subgenres, like Riddim. Riddim as a whole sounds like sh*t, and even though there are some specific tracks that I like,I know you're probably gonna hate it. Melodic Dubstep (from 2013-2016 especially) sounds really beautiful for me and it's a nice way of taking the "tryhard" sounds and make them not sound like a transformer hellhole. So, maybe...? Anyway, I have to agree that the tracks today are really previsible. And if you're really not into the high pitched sounds and growls, I can't try to get you into modern dubstep. It's almost impossible. The genre changed too much. MONXX's sub-bass is awesome though, his tracks are much more "quieter" despite being Riddim. Could you take a listen to the song "Killer" and tell me what you think? As I said, it's previsible, but... Yeah Idk what I'm talking about anymore. I don't even know if you're gonna read this whole essay. Anyway, have a good day/night sir...
