Same reason i chose a 1299 over all the new bikes back in 2015 that i test rode. Hardest bike to ride and learn, most lively, physical, loud, aggressive, like an old school muscle car, and most importantly the most soul out of the current crop of bikes. Puts a smile every time i throw a leg over her.
@MountainMetal5 жыл бұрын
Italy builds the most soul-stirring machines. They're almost incapable of not doing so. The Japanese don't even speak that language, and I've owned and enjoyed both.

@rafamayzin90937 жыл бұрын
You buy a Panigale being aware of the fact that it's not like any other sportbike on the market. It's a piece art, a masterpiece of italian engineering and it's iconic. It's not an everyday bike for just anyone. It's tough to handle, it's a pain in the ass when it comes to maintain and it's expensive as fuck. But hey, when you buy a damn fine thing you can't expect it to be cheap and easy to deal with right?

Why would I want something that’s a chore to ride?
@JohnS9165 жыл бұрын
@@gonzotopia1 Depends what you mean by chore. Yes, the maintenance schedule and pricing is high, but the newer models have much wider mileage intervals compared to older Ducatis, they required expensive valve adjustments every 6k miles. Back in 04 I took it upon myself to learn how to do the valve checks and any shim replacements on my 916 and followed that when I bought a 999S. The difference between the two was like night and day, the Testastretta design was much more user friendly than the 916 era bikes. P. T. did a great job in this respect, his predecessor Tamburini didn't. Royal pain in the ass to access the valves on the 916, had to remove everything first and the window opening to do valve inspection/adjustments was tiny, whereas the 999 had big valve covers with easy access to the motor. It was like fresh air times two.

Great review BJ, your love and enthusiasm for the Panigale was clear, unashamed and honest. Would very much like to own a Panigale, but cannot afford to experiment with such a potentially fractious relationship. Reviews like this afford the vicarious experience without the pain. :-)

nice skills man!I would prefer this from bmw hp race as It definetely going to be limited edition with high value as the last ducati v-twin engine in its sbk series.Whatever Ducati gave to it.v-twin could not gain any hp without increasing cc which in my opinion it is stupid to go above 1300cc v-twin!there is no meaning at all in that---keep in mind that started from 851 and had been increasing cc every time in order to be competitive.... models 851,916,996, 998, 999, 1098,,1198,1199....1299!Nice review again!you deserve a lot lot more subscribes!
@fastbikes7 жыл бұрын
Cheers! And yes, true, when WSB went to 1,000cc across the board, they were having to use about three engines per rider per weekend for the litre twin to be competitive, which isn't sustainable even for a factory hence why they got more capacity again. Love V-twins, or L-twins in this case, but the format will always be at a big disadvantage with identical capacities, sadly...

Excellent review sir. Man, I would love to have any 1299, base or S model. I'm "vintage" Ducati having owned the 999S and still have my 999R. I've kept the 999R for a long time, put a lot of upgrades into it and there is nothing more realistically that I need, but what I want is another matter. However, my bikes were built before the electronics craze and if I were to sell it would be for the modern electronics, just to try them out. Again, well done objective review of a bike that raises the senses to the highest level.
@benjaminkubascronin30825 жыл бұрын
Thanks John! Funny enough the 999R was my most favourite Ducati until this FE, which I still prefer to the V4, funny enough. Had a chance to buy one (999R) a few years ago and didn't pull the trigger, now prices are flying back up again it seems, ah well... Ignore any naysayers, electronics are awesome and used correctly (not on anything but the lowest levels) they're amazing and also no guarantee of staying upright - perfect. Turn them up and you're not going anywhere, but the best systems work as an extension of your own inputs, and they're mega.

@fastbikes7 жыл бұрын
Ha! The main difference twixt the FE and Super' is that despite all the special stuff on the FE it still feels like a Panigale, whereas the Super' feels completely different, a different bike in its own right with virtually none of the 'foibles' that has affected the big Panigale range since launch. There's the other half of the price!

Being a current owner of a MV F4 1000 2005 model , I like the look of this and think it is nicer looking than the new V 4 model although I would prefer the V 4 but will await the Honda RVF 1000 and get back aboard the big bore Japanese V4 1000 that will eat all comers.
@paulklees98717 жыл бұрын
Michael Marshall i dont think that the Japenese put a v4 out.Because a v4 cot a lot of more in production than a inline four.The Problem is how much people paying for a v4 Honda so much more than for a CBR.Ducati has sold in 3 Months in Svizzerland 50 Ducatis over 40000 Dolar in the Same Time Honda has selling one cbr SP2 wich cost 30000 Dollar.The Problem is People Buying a Honda if is not Cost much over 22000Dolar.Ducati dosent gave any Problem to selling Sportsbike wuch cost 40000 Dollar and more.The Speciale V4 sells well just before is came out.
@michaelmarshall17137 жыл бұрын
I don't buy it. In 1984 Honda had the VF 1000 and they had it for awhile . The Superbike Rules later on favoured Ducati and most others were producing inline fours so Honda went back to boring. They still have the old V 4 engine designs that can modify and make them viable for today . They need to stop going down the elite sport bike road and make a bike like the old VF 1000 the could live in the city, highway and race it if you wish as opposed to now that thinly disguised race bikes for the street are not easy to live with and I ride a MV Agusta and on highway great in town a unhappy beast. Honda will do it they just wanted to see what Ducati offered and well it is not pretty at all.
@paulklees98717 жыл бұрын
Michael Marshall yes i have seen how much Power Honda pull out of a GP Motor for Street.Only 160 BHP for street for a Bike wich cost with Race Kit 200000 Dollar????Plese dont talking shit about the Honda v4 this is a shame 160 BHP out of a GP Motor and this with the Euro 4?????!!.Ducati GP Motor is in the GP the Strongest,and Ducati using Desmodromik wich is Enable to do RPM like Pneumatic Valve wich only use in the GP.Tell me how can Honda put that Power with standart spring Valve??You can go over 14.500rpm without pneumatic Valve.Ducati can with the Desmdromik making more RPM because Ducati is only one that using the same Valve System in the GP like on Street legal Bikes.And i am shure the Panigale v4 r 1000ccm can brake the Rekord of RPM for street legal Bikes.
@michaelmarshall17137 жыл бұрын
Shit ? What shit ? Honda make the best V 4 engine period I have owned one and the torque is amazing even from back then. I don't know what Honda will do for their street bike but who has the titles in Moto GP ? Honda have more than Ducati ! I own a MV Agusta right now and it is good but like all Italian exotics hard to live with and the Japanese make great all round bikes even the old SP 2 Blade update is a better both worlds bike than most of todays sports bikes. Shit you say ? Where can I use this 160 BHP ? I cannot even ride my MV to its potential . Not shit mate but reality ! I think the Ducati power is awesome I think the bike is ugly & the new Blade is even uglier!
@paulklees98717 жыл бұрын
Michael Marshall i dont say that 160 is not enough but why they not enable to put 200 BHP of a Moto GP based Motor???Sorry but paying 200K for a Bike that only can put more than 200 BHP with Race Kit.You can Talking how ever you wont but Honda has not that Power like other Bikes thats a Fact.And i Talking about Title in the SBK and in SBK Ducati still Rekordholder with Titel,and with each new Model has won the SBK Titel.And you realy think that Honda can adaptet a Motor from VF1000R from 1984 in 2018??????Just only one thing Ducati has build the first v4 in 1963 this is only a litle Information,because i can not heare any more how much stupid shit you talking🤔a got a headache.

V4 vs VTwin? What's the difference? Why are most new supersports going towards the V4s?
@fastbikes7 жыл бұрын
Big difference! And it's only Ducati and Aprilia with V4s, Yamaha's R1 mimics (to a certain extent) a V4, and we could be waiting until the next ice age for Honda to make a V4 (The VFR doesn't count), one that doesn't cost the price of a small flat that is...

Ducati could never win without rule concessions. It has been the industry joke for a really long time. They are fast FOR A TWIN, but that is all, and it is an ass burner that sucks to ride. Compression braking is dangerous, and it only runs at high RPM. the 959 Panigale already seems like a 916
