Great videos. Been putting off my first belt change for about 6 months. Just did it. You made it much easier.

Fantastic, glad it helped, it's nowhere near as worrying as many would have you think is it.

Hi, Sorry not replied before, only just saw this comment. Yes, I was disconneting the fuel inlet and return pipes, they are on self sealing quick release connectors, you have to be careful with them as they're plastic and excessive force can break them, I find a combination of pressing the clips and gently rotating frees them, you have to go by feel as theres not a lot of room to maneouvre. If they do break, you can replace the connectors on the lines with Triumph metal ones same fitment, cheers

perfect video for me, I am about to change belts for the first time. I am just worried about tensioning. I got no tool, can it be done by feel?

That's one that I want to do but it won't be happening for a while unfortunately

It can, see video 4 for the tensioning process and alternatives, without the tensioning tool, i would use a combination of the 90 degree twist and the 5mm allen wrench deflection. Twist at the longest run on non adjustable tensioner, remember, too tight is probably worse as it will damage the belts and the adjustable roller, if that collapses it will slip. If in any doubt fit it up, ride steadily to a dealer before reassembling all the covers and bits and ask them to check tension for you.

How do you lift the seat up I can’t find the pins you talking about !!
@spidiq85 жыл бұрын
You unlock it with the key, hinge it all the way forward and the pins are what it hinges on.

Most Definitely! Now I need to do the Spark Plugs. I'm hoping iridium one will do fine.
@spidiq88 жыл бұрын
Mine had iridium plugs and ran just fine, apparently they're prone to fouling if you start and let it idle a lot without a proper run.

can you please advice i found a 2002 ducati 916 for sell with 2000$ the bike motor smoke but the mechanic told me he can refurbish the motor bring it back new the bike fiber is all damage need to buy new my question is ,, is it worth it ? to do this bike ? bring it back to life ?
@spidiq88 жыл бұрын
Is that USD? I know prices are a on the climb a little but that potentially sounds like a heap of money needing poured into it and if originality is going to be a concern, (It will affect resale if not fairly original), you might want to rethink.

is it the same procedure for an '04 s4r ?
@spidiq85 жыл бұрын
If it's the same engine then yes, it'll be very similar if not as the 4 valve engines all follow the same design.

Nothing I can do about that, best I can suggest if you turn up the volume and you should catch enough of what I'm saying, the video is pretty self explanatory though.

Video interessanti per molti, ma 5 minuti per togliere il serbatoio cercando sul lato dx mentre i connettori sono smontabili sul lato sx denota mancata esperienza.

vvictor972 2 minutes and 22 seconds to remove the tank, if you account for the last few seconds speeded up footage to save this taking too long once people had the principal in mind it's still no longer than 2min 40sec, far from 5 minutes. As for right side and left side and lack of experience, the pipes are curved up from the left side but if you listen you'll clearly hear me state that I have found it easier to access the quick disconnect clips from the right, (which might be something to do with not having the pipes in the way do you think?), hearing me say this might also help you realise that it wasn't the first time i'd removed it! Also very relevant - The tank was 3/4 full and very heavy and when you're handling it without assistance and trying to balance it carefully without it tipping or scratching the paint it's a delicate process AND, anyone who knows these bikes know these quick disconnects on the underside of the tanks are plastic and if rough handled can snap off, when you live 185 miles from the nearest Ducati dealership for replacement parts and want to test ride the bike after, again, CAREFUL handling is the order of the day, what you see there, is not me trying to figure out which side to unfasten them as you ignorantly assume, it's me unlatching them from the RIGHT HAND SIDE and very slowly and carefully wiggling them free from the fuel pump assembly in the tank to avoid damage all while trying to balance the heavy tank at the same time, this part would be far easier with an assistant to lift and hold and tank to allow you to get both hands in to free the two pipes, one of which has a very minimal clearance meaning you have to tilt rather than lift clear the tank. Your assumptions without this obvious, (to anyone who's worked on Ducati's), information leads me to assume lack of experience on your part. If you found this video useful then that's good, it's intended to be a complete walkthrough for a complete newbie to a helpful reminder to an experienced mechanic, (which is why I included bodywork removal instead of assuming people know it already). If it's merely an opportunity to critiscise then please make time to get facts and listen more carefully before you do or take your assumptions elsewhere, thankyou As a final note I'm particularly impressed by the plethora of useful and informative how to videos on your channel! Oh wait, no, like most commenters with uninformed critiscism you have NOTHING to offer yourself by way of useful videos!
