Its kinda funny how with Ducati there’s essentially no actual engine mods you can ever do to any of the later models. So all you can do is tack on a bunch of carbon fiber parts and do an exhaust. You could do a sprocket set and gain some acceleration that way but you’d lose top speed.
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
I put a 14T front sprocket on a Monster 1100s I owned once, as it was tricky to ride smoothly at urban speeds, but this doesn't need that, I think.

Panigale 959 doesn’t really have any need for a quick acceleration gearing.... it already power wheelies in stock for when going full throttle

Great video! Did you have to change the low fairing to install the akra exhaust?
@nigelpstreet4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you, glad you liked the video. Yes, it’s necessary to change the lower fairings on both sides to switch to underbelly slip ons.

Good video. I'm wondering if there'll be a final edition 959 Corse. Also an Up _AND down_ quickshift would be a nice farewell bonus. 😎
@nigelpstreet6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Interesting idea that there might be a 959 Final Edition - if indeed Ducati do switch their smaller superbike to a V4. I had assumed that the Corse would be the last hurrah for the 959, but I could be wrong. I agree an auto-blipper would be very cool.

I thought this corse has up and down quickshift?
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
#MLB_MotoVlogs Unfortunately not, just a standard ‘up’ quickshifter.
@Subi_doo5 жыл бұрын
Nigel Street that’s disappointing, I guess I really can’t see any reason to purchase the 959 over the v4 panigale now. I really thought the corse had the auto blip.
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
@@Subi_doo I would say there are lots of differences (beyond just price), not least being that the 959 is just overall more usable on public roads, but if you can stretch to the V4 S (and get Akrapovic race cans!), then go for it!

The 959 red has clear coat. The 899 didn't.
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
That's not been the case with all the examples I've seen, right up to and including the V2.

So for the european market is the exhaust at right side? Do you know why ducati had to do this? Because of emissons? Because of noise cancelling?
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's for the EURO4 regulations. There are emissions restrictions (offset by a larger engine capacity over the 899), but they had to move to a side exhaust mainly because the noise is measured from the centre of the bike, which is where the underbelly exhaust exits - so they had to move the exhaust exit away from the middle of the bike. Sad that Ducati can't even sell the bike as intended even in Italy!

@@nigelpstreet oh my god. The under engine exhaust is one of the greatest Things i Like by Ducati.

Is there a reason you are not running your battery tender through the tail?
@nigelstreet97745 жыл бұрын
Good question. The battery tender lead was fitted by the dealer, and I guess that's the convenient place - it tucks reasonably behind the fairing. I guess it would be neater and be more protected to come out through the tail, but in practice I don't think it's an issue.
@bigbuckeye765 жыл бұрын
FYI- there is a “plug” sold by Ducati that plugs into the connector in the rear cowl that has the battery tender lead. That’s how I have my 1299 hooked up and it works great.

It's an official Ducati Performance, painted specifically for the Corse model. I ordered mine through the dealer at the time I bought the bike itself.

Would the 959 be too much for a first bike?.. I am looking on buying a GSX-S750 as my commuting/fun touring bike, but I also want to purchase a sports bike for going for hoons, but I don't want a bike that will be too difficult to ride as a new biker?
@nigelpstreet5 жыл бұрын
I think it might be a much, yes. It’s true that you can ride any bike slowly, but the body position on a sports bike makes it a bit harder to control bike, particularly at low speeds. However, if you are looking at a GSX, I think the 959 would actually be easier - less heavy etc
