Ducati Hypermotard 821 Termignoni Exhaust - Soundcheck HD

I promised a soundcheck with the HyMo. Here it is. Termignoni exhaust and cat with Ducati Performance Up-map. Also I've now changed front sprocket to 14T and the bike is now even more hyper than before... CRAZY! I usually ride with the DTC on setting 1. As a lifeline.

Why does it sound so different from the 821 monster? Isnt it the same engineblock & parts?

I've been trying to figure this out myself for the last year 😅. I own a Hyper 821 and I ride my dad's Monster 821 all the time. The Hyper is much more brappy less sonorous, where monster is quite mechanical but more refined, especially under load. My guess is the header lengths before the collector are the biggest factor. On the Hyper are very uneven, where the monster has close to even length.

+Dulf Nordensvärd Tja! Helt rätt val, det är en riktigt jäkla rolig oj. Var en motorjournalist som kallade den för "sex on wheels" och jag kan inte säga emot det. Svärfar har en Hyperstrada och han är toknöjd. Samma motor och i princip samma chassi som Hypermotarden något snällare och anpassad för touring.

ylleskog Gött! Kan du fråga din svärfar om han skulle ta med sin käraste på en långtur? För jag är 180cm/80kg med min bästa hälft på 175cm/82kg (stor dam). Skulle hojen palla med detta och skulle hon njuta av hojen lika mycket som jag? För jag har även kollat in kawasaki versys 650 och jag får den fullmatade Grand Tourer för mindre pengar ny än en beg hyperstrada och då har jag varken tankmätare, växelindikator och topbag. Hyper har bara sidobags. Jag är verkligen kluven! Hypern är verkligen en dröm! så rolig och perfekt för just mig men jag vill att min tjej ska kunna njuta med. Tack för ditt svar.

+Dulf Nordensvärd Hej igen. Han har inga erfarenheter av att skjutsa på den hojen ännu. Men både jag och han tror att om ni åker oftare två än en så är kanske Gran Tourer att rekommendera då Hypern är lite mindre. Hypern kan ha toppväska också, svärfar kör med 3 stora boxar när han drar utomlands om somrarna. Har du provkört båda hojarna? Det är ju enorm skillnad motormässigt mellan dessa två hojar.

ylleskog Tjena, hon satt aldrig bak på hypern, men hon ska få göra det i på bike i trollhättan när jag ska dit för de har en begagnad där som jag kanske nämnde. Och som du säger, det går inte jämföra smalj faktorn mellan versys och hyper även om versys säkert räcker? Hon säger till mig att skaffa det jag vill ha men hon åker ju nästan av min mt07 som jag har nu utan låda. Så en topbox vore kanske de optimala att ha i reserv när hon vill åka med på en söndagstur isf ?

Hi! Yes, when set high it prevents the front wheel from lift off. Works fine around 1-2 though.

Hi! Only once in this video. The ABS engaged at 2:28. No need for it on tarmac. You don't really use the ABS for normal riding but you will be glad you have ABS in panic situations.

+Xavi Oliveras Hi Xavi. Thanks! This is "standard" with upgraded engine software and exhaust. 116 horsepower and a lot of torque. Would love the setup of the SP but I'm in love with the matt black. :D

+ylleskog Woow I asked it for the same reason, I love this black but I think this colour isn't possible in SP version. Another thing: is possible to change the exhaust only, without change anything of software? Or if you want to change the exhaust, you already have to change the software to prevent losses at high or low revolutions? Thankss for your attention!!

+Xavi Oliveras Thats right. SP version comes in one color only. Hmm, it depends on what exhaust you're buying but to gain power you'll need to load a map. You can ride your bike with a slip-on without a map but if you remove the cat you'll probably have to re-map or you will loose small amounts of power at higher revs.

Quick question, so you are able to wheelie the bike on Sport mode (DTC level: 3 ) with throuttle fully open after somewhere around 7-8,000rpm? No need to pop up the clutch at all for all the wheelies you done in the video? What do you think what should i do when bike light at front? let go the throuttle and pedal the rear brake? what can be done in safe way to wheelie my hyper 821 in terms of the rocky, new ownership of supermoto?

+Greg Lai Hi Greg! I've changed the front sprocket on my bike. So I can pull wheelies at lower revs. However if you want to pull a safe wheelie you will need to switch the DTC off as it is unpredictable on one wheel. Suddenly it may cut and you will be surprised. Also for starter, do not use the rear brake. I always keep the bike at the right angle to control it with the throttle. I ain't got the guts to pull it far up and steer it with the brake pedal. I use the clutch on higher gears as 4-5th. No need for it in the lowers. Enjoy your HyMo but be careful with the wheelies! +fdyjt hi man! It's not quite the perfect "learn-to-drive-bike". The clutch is kinda rough and the throttle is very sensitive (ride by wire). But otherwise it's a great bike. You can put it in a mode were it deliveres 3/4 of the power and the throttle senesitivity reduced. It's a great and safe bike however. With or without experience. Buy one! :D
