Google says 790mm seat height is available in the Ducati multistrada .

Im 5,5 and have shorter legs than you, i could not get it off the stand sitting on it but it did have a full height seat, had i known the seat could be dropped i may have bought it, great value for money on the used market

I have a 2018 Multistrada 1260S. It does have a down ‘blipper’. The quick shifter needs a firm push. If you try to shift ‘lazily’ it does occasionally find a false neutral. This is a ‘Sport’ tourer. It rewards spirited riding. It comes alive at 3500 rpm. It is not for you if you like to short shift and keep the revs low. The Termi’ system includes a remap that cleans up the fueling across the entire rev range.

I'm surprised you find the seat height so different on the 1260 compared with the 950. the seat height for the 1260 is 845mm to 825mm, and on the 950 840mm but with the optional 820mm seat which I have. They (Ducati) don't give centroid heights for either, but I can't see there being much difference between the two versions so again interesting you find it less top heavy. My issue on the 950 is the dynamics of the side stand and parking the bike on sloping ground. I have the centre stand but it only gets used in my garage as it put s the whole bike up so high it's hairy taking it back off , certainly wouldn't recommend either bike for a shorter person TBH!
@InfusedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Allan for sharing. I am not either, why the seat height differs. I only base it on my own "live" experience of it and filmed it for everyone to see. To my surprise I found 950S and MV Turismo Veloce more top heavy for my short stature than the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX even though both the latter weigh less than the Ninja. I also found the KTM 1290 GT less top heavy. I think it's an individual thing and depends on different factors. I am hoping to test ride the low suspension version of the BMW S1000XR to see how that feels🙂

With the low seat and adjustment to the suspension you can set up to make it more manageable im 5 5 with a 27.5 in seam i don't have too much trouble & tour two up. With regards to gear selection i have found you have to sensitive to gear and speed far more than on a BMW also you need to use the modes to get the best out of it😄 you can swap between all modes on the fly (Previous bike was a R1200rs) the only thing i miss from the BMW is the shaft drive lol fitted a scott oiler which helps wouldn't go back to BMW
@InfusedBiker4 жыл бұрын
That's great that you're enjoying this bike. If I had the money I'd buy one! And regarding the chain apparently BMW now supply (for extra money!) a new diamond coated chain (M Performance chain) which doesn't need oil as frequently as the standard chain. Hmm, I wonder if this chain would be available to other motorcycles.

In your opinion , in the used market, would you prefer the rs1200 or the multistrada? I am looking for both but the maintenance cost and mpg of the Ducati concerns me. I am 5,4 so does the Ducati feel more heavy than the bmw?
@InfusedBiker6 ай бұрын
@jorgeantunesclaro4450 Yes, for my short height I found the multristrada too top heavy and preferred the low suspension BMW.😁

Thank you sir. Hmm, it is a great bike for sure but in my personal and subjective opinion some little odd feeling here and there left me sitting on the fence a bit. And also after the video I bumped into a couple of owners who mentioned some problems with their bikes and they won't recommend buying one. I think there are one or two KZbin videos of owner's highlighting negative issues too. So make sure to test ride it before buying.

Hi sir, greetings. Nice Vids, good information. I had watched your videos, and I found it interesting that you said 1260 handles & weights better than the 950S. I think that is because the weight distribution on 1260 is much more balanced, compared to the 950S, despite the spec on the sheets tell us that 1260 had more weights . Sadly, I love motorcycle and had always wanted to own this pretty Multistrada and another big touring bikes of course, but considering the cost & the weight, also the safety factor, I see that as a short rider, 5 foot 3 in, I see myself go with better choices on a small and preferably less than 250cc motorcycle. Especially from Japanese line up, as they are known to have better reliability and more importantly, coming at much lower cost. I tested the friend of mine Ninja 250 twice, and did not like how heavy it was, so I could not find the right reason to own such machine for daily use, maybe for weekend riding is okay. Also, Wifey and I had done two long distance riding with our 120CC matic scooter, and I keep thinking that, man! This small & light bike, done much much better job than what I expect. It is nimble, easy to ride, had good fuel consumption, and very robust! Excellent cost saving. Although we must sacrifice some legs room & carry smaller luggage / bag, but.... i t g e t s t h i n g s r i g h t. So, at the end, my two cents, it is nice to have such big machine, but smaller bike is enough for me at this moment, though I can't deny that big bikes give us new sense of excitement, and sense of adventure, that's what we have been looking for right? 😜 Thanks and have a good day, stay safe.

I have a 2010 I got in on a trade. Did the deal verbally so it’s a done deal. I can not tip toe both sides. It’s either 1 foot down then a jump no slide for other side. Can not put kickstand down. Can I get the bike lowered other than just the seat?
@InfusedBiker3 жыл бұрын
The way the rear shock is designed into the frame doesn't leave much room for lowering options. I think specialists could possibly find a way to insert shorter spring but is the cost worth it?
@mikepagan75293 жыл бұрын
If I don’t get 2-3” out of it I can not ride it n must sell it. I did however just learned about sag. It does not sag even with my 240 pounds sitting on it. If I can get 2” of sag maybe I can purchase a lower seat to get me that 3”
