Not correct, need to have drilled nuts, run the wire so the nut is in tension in the tightening direction. Check prop bolt safety wiring for a good example. This will just keep the nuts from falling off after they are loose

The studs are actually flared for this
@isaalghazi9131 Жыл бұрын
The purpose of Safety wire is to prevent the NUTS from turning and backing off. . not to prevent them from falling off a loosened stud. You put the safety wire THROUGH the nut, to tension the nut, not onto the end of the stud. This is embarassingly INCORRECT.

Do you actually have one of these bike’s? He literally did it close not perfectly but close to exactly how it was designed to be set up

I do agree with you for FAA standards it’s just not the same
@peterwelch53452 жыл бұрын
This is not how you wire lock!!! It’s cosmetic only and a very dangerous procedure. The wire needs to be threaded though drilled holes in the nuts to lock them out. If aircraft were wire locked like this we’d have them falling out of the sky!! Sorry to be negative but people should not be doing this

In this dude's defense I did it exactly like he did and pulled on it with everything I had and it ain't coming off.

@@timtoo7144 so I’m guessing it’s not wrong it’s just not up to FAA standards … it should be fine as long as the bike doesn’t fly

😂😂😂😂 don’t know how many Ducati’s take off from your local airport but it has a notch specifically for safety wire. Also this is exactly how they come from factory sooooooo😂😂😂😂
