Duchess Hospital “Waiting list Initiative” for life-saving heart surgery.

The Duchess Hospital Waiting List Initiative (WLI) is designed to provide fast and affordable access to life-saving surgical treatment for patients currently on the “waiting list” for surgery in public sector hospitals who would not normally have been able to afford the cost of treatment in the private sector.
Due to our various partnerships and collaborations with public sector hospitals, not-for-profit institutions, and corporate organisations, we are able to offer these complex surgical treatments using the world-class facilities and services available at the Duchess International Hospital at no greater cost to patients than they would have had to pay if delivered in a public sector hospital.
Working closely together with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and charities like the Friends of Nigeria Save-A-Heart Foundation UK, we have so far performed 21 open-heart surgery operations on the Duchess WLI scheme, effectively reducing the public sector waiting time by approximately 8 - 10 months.
We are extremely proud of this unique collaboration with our partners and of what private-public sector partnerships can achieve on behalf of our patients.
