Hay, thanks for the video. Looks great! A parts list and diagram/plans would really help too. Thanks again...
@Jimmiebs6 жыл бұрын
Diagram/plans are on Facebook facebook.com/pg/muddrduckeradventures/photos/?ref=page_internal I used 3/4" conduit. 1/2" rigid to fit inside the 3/4 for my joints or but pieces. Good luck

Thank you for the video it was great! I do have one question though you said something about installing it some C clamps my dads go a little 16 foot jet boat and if i would install anything i think it would have to temporarily just for duck season.
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
You can weld or drill and bolt the cross bars to c clamps instead of drilling the boat.

Wow, looks very well done. I’ve never done any work with the conduit, does it seem to hold the weight of the grass well? Also, any troubles with wind when you’re out and the blind is up? This is tons better than the burlap open top builds

Hey love your design. I would like more details on your dimensions for the pipes. I am working in building one of my own in my 15ft flat bottom.
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
2 @ 1" conduit 10'. Mount to front and back of boat. 7 @ 3/4" conduit 10'. This is the frame. 1 @ 1/2 ridged conduit (small pieces) This fits snug inside of the 3/4" pipe and can be welded or fastened with 1/4 20 nuts and bolts. I hope this helps.
@spencerhanson13937 жыл бұрын
Mudder Ducker Adventures That is indeed helpful thank you. I was hoping for more information in what your dimensions were for the frame lengths themselves. As well as the pivot points.
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
The frame length was determined by where I wanted it to sit on the boat. The height was determined by siting how I would when I was hunting and measuring from the one inch conduit to the height I was comfortable with. I sometimes draw things out with pencil on my garage floor so I can see what it will look like to scale. Tape the white side of wrapping paper together and draw on that. Good luck

Could you post on your video after you have had it on the road to give some tips and tricks for making it road worthy? Thanks

Yes. I like that and will do that this season. It travels good and I only strap it down in the front and back. Good luck out there.

Where they meet I have a hole drilled and put a pin through them both of them. Thank you for watching. My other blind videos may show that part better.
@kylewhittington16137 жыл бұрын
Mudder Ducker Adventures Also what pin did you use?
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I made the pins. If you go to Menards (hardware store) you can buy 1/4" pencil rod and cut and bend it to work for you. They also sell pins that are kinda the same there also. Good luck.

What hp long tail is that on the back? And how wide is your boat? I have a 14' as well but I have a 15 hp outboard. Trying to decide how big of a motor I'd need to push it as fast/faster than my outboard. Great looking blind man!
@Jimmiebs8 жыл бұрын
It is a 22 hp. With just me and all the gear you see in the boat it will go 20 mph +. My boat is an older Monark and it is 14 feet long, 4 feet wide at the bottom, 69 inches wide at the top, and 16 inches deep. Thank you for the comment.

How is your light bar wired up? And what do you run it off from for a battery?
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I have it wired to a switch in the back. They all run on a separate marine battery.

Nice set up! I wanna do the same to mine! Did you use 1 inch conduit all the way around?
@Jimmiebs8 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I used 1 inch on each end. I used 3/4 for everything else.

Did you have any problems with the handle of the mud motor getting in the way?

Yes. I made it removable with one pin. I remove the handle when I trailer it down the road also.

Really like your blind (and your videos too)...Can you give me the dimensions or provide a diagram of the plans..I'm trying to figure out how high to make the bends...etc.
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I will put a picture on my face book page for you of the drawing. facebook.com/muddrduckeradventures/ You will want to make changes to fit your own boat size. Also, try bending the pipes and leave them plenty long and you can cut them down to fit when you seem them bent or lay them out on the floor. Good luck hope this helps.
@Trevorbeza127 жыл бұрын
How did you lay out your grass ontop? Length of boat or width of boat?
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I used zip-ties and draped it towards the unopened side. The boat is 14 feet long 16 inch's deep and 70 inch's wide at the top.

I'm looking for the same grass where did you buy it from and was it at a good price??
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I got it at Sportsmans Warehouse in Ankeny Iowa. 50$ a bag and the bag had 4 pieces in it. Each piece is 4 foot wide and 5 foot long.
@mccoylindquist32278 жыл бұрын
how many grass mats did you end up using because that looks like a lot more than 4

But, I just saw this post ("Instant Access To 518 Boat Plans and 40 boat building videos”) and actually was reading about this same topic the other day. I did some searching around and stumbled onto this cool article… I thought it was helpful… 518boatplans.blogspot.com

Did you use a pipe bender to get the 90 degree angles?
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
Yes on the pipe bender. After I bent them I laid them all together so they matched. They don't have to be perfect.
@lukesneed35987 жыл бұрын
How did you get the pipe to bend like that
@Jimmiebs7 жыл бұрын
I used a pipe bender. They can be found in the electrical section at a hardware store.

How do you get in and out of your boat while the blind is up?
@Jimmiebs5 жыл бұрын
We just push the blind panel out and slip in and out from the sides. The grass is not fastened but only to the top of the frame. Kind of like drapes the panels move around.
@ericteipen5 жыл бұрын
Imo you over engineered the hell outa that thing..screw a whole bunch of pivot points. I built mine much simpler and easier...
