Got to keep the command short dead bird Cheif is obviously confusing him. Also I don’t see why every retrieve you have to walk him half way there. Use the command he was trained with or use “chief” it will lessen the confusion of the dog. Other than than he’s a great dog and I’m looking forward to seeing how he turns out

That dog is confused AF. He doesn't understand "go get em" or obviously "dead bird chief". You should just use his name unless it's a blind retrieve. Then you give him a line and tell him dead bird until he's lock in on the line then "back". That is if he's been trained on all that. Also when birds are coming or before shooting give him the "mark" command. He's a marking son of a gun though. And he wants to please you can tell he just doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing. Stop hunting him until he's tightened up or it's just going to get worse. And will be a struggle. And don't walk after the him after he casts.

Voice inflection when you give the command as well some confusion. If you strive for precision the momentum will never come strive for the momentum the precision will follow. In other words way too much obedience will knock the down dog and confuse him. Have to have that happy medium balance

My guess is that he is uncomfortable because the seat seems very unstable.

I think he is feeling resistance when he moves and it's like you have your hand on him restraining him. He's getting mixed signals. Looks like he cant fully shake the water off which might make him colder. He's a great dog.

I think you're just saying things too fast and hyping it up too much in ur voice. Keep it simple and clear. Try to work on just "dead bird" if that's ur command and not "dead bird chief,dead bird back, go get em chief". It's too much. Chief's doing great tho and he will be even better in the future. Awesome hunt as well.
