Cheif is a stud as always and Cora is an amazing dog just like Jordan said it’s normal for dogs to do that especially her being that young and early in training you should be proud she attempted to grab that goose a little work she will be throwing them around the swamps before you know it

My jaw dropped when I realized y’all were hunting in the town where my cabin is in ND!! I had the biggest hunch once I saw all the windmills lights before shooting light and than the big piece of open water!! Been hunting around there last 10 years of my life! Was just up there for Early Goose! Also don’t consider The Co-op as an grocery store I almost died🤣 best of hunts from an MN viewer!

Great video guys! I know working young dogs can be frustrating at times. She will get there. Those are super long retrieves in the water for a young dog. I mean if you’re hunting timber in Arkansas the retrieves won’t be that long. Small ponds won’t be as long and won’t be so much area for her to look for the bird. My current lab had a hard time with birds being alive on the water still so we made sure we water swatted all of them that were maybe alive and it helped immensely on getting him to where he needed to be. Cora is young and she will get it for sure. You guys hammer enough birds she will be trained in no time! Cheers from Montana!

I like how the first hunt yall literally hunt one of my favorite spots. Im being dead serious with this advice but go an hour west into the coteau and youll find more public and ducks. Also smaller easier to hut potholes.

@@DuckGunChronicleswhere I’m at I shoot mostly wood ducks 40 yards and in, I’m trying to decide between the 2 3/4” 5s or 3” 5s, the 2 3/4” 6s are also up for consideration too because of the higher pellet count and lower recoil than the 3” 5s, any suggestions?

@@nathanielchoate69 with the 20 gauge the 3 inch shell is just better and number 5’s are great for woodies. On the 12 I think the 2 3/4 5’s is best

Vests also get hung up on obstacles and have seen them nearly drown dogs. Chief looks like he had some chessie blood in him im sure he was fine. Will miss him in the videos ❤️

@@fishamons5439 Never saw a properly fitted vest get hung on anything, the exact opposite is true, protection against punctures/slashes, not to mention warmth and flotation. I am not the owner, I just found it hard to watch, especially breaking through the ice, seen many a dog hurt bad in those conditions.

What's with all the dog hate? Young dog first hunts give it a break. I'm sure you all must have perfect dogs from the start. The only thing I'd change would be the breed if your hunting lots of ducks. Labs are great all around dogs, but up north it gets cold and dogs do,even the labs. Get a chessie they have more hunt drive and take the cold better,and they are up there with the best for upland dogs as well.

Easy to stop the whining, ear pinches normally will end it fast, if not, temporary use of a collar will solve it.

I have never had to use a collar for any issues, ear pinches are my go to and almost always work without risking any injury to the dog.

Nice Job Jordan- I'd dump your partner bud- He get's pissed when you jump early on a honker, Tells you not to shoot when his dogs out, then shoots when yours is out the next day, then doesn't let you shoot a cripple at your suggestion, then says your part of that mistake later...What a jackass- You can do better Jordan, you are easy going and deserve better hunting partners- So sorry about Chief, he will be missed by many...
